Favourite: Action/Adventure

I know it's cheating picking two themes but there are several great games like Metroid, Guardian Legend and Xexyz that mix the two well together and I love that idea.

Least fav:

Colouring book simulator. Color A Dinosaur.. nuff said.

Third Person Shooters (i.e. Resident Evil 0-3, Metal Gear Solid)
Shmups
low-level RPGs (Pokemon, Dark Cloud, Legend of Zelda)
Niche games (Ape Escape, Elite Beat Agents, Cooking Mama, Trauma Center)

Hate:
First Person Shooters (with few notable exceptions, mostly Valve, Battlefield 1942)
Sports games
Beat-em-ups (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Double Dragon)
