Default SNES problem - no picture

When I put a game in my SNES, I can't get a picture. I don't even get a black screen. It's like the TV doesn't recognize the system. The TV stays blue like when a game isn't plugged in and turned on. The red light goes on on the front of the system. It's a 1991 launch system.

I've tried 3 different cables to the TV (an old mad catz 3 way cable, an NES RF cable, and a composite cable).

Any ideas what's wrong? Is it fixable? If it isn't, what clone do you recommend?

Have you tried it on a different TV? Is the TV set to the correct input? Have you tried multiple games?

I'd avoid any clone systems since some games with special chips like Super Mario RPG will not work on those. I recommend a 1997 SNES Mini.

May be a problem with the game, not the system. The exact same thing once happened to me and I found out it was just a problem with the game.

Sure enough - tried another game, and that was it. Can't get Super Pinball - Behind the Mask or Sonic Blast man II to work. Do they need to be cleaned, or something?

Couldn't hurt. Glad to hear it works, though!
