However, that date is extremely early if it were for Fantastic 4 PS2 (which was released 6/27/2005). Do what Gameguy suggested and see what you pull up on your PC.

EDIT: Very nice! Somewhat disturbing that they spent over 2 years on that game though. Too bad CD-Rs don't sell well as promos and it's a horrible game. Interesting piece nonetheless.

Yes, but this CD-R has one thing going for it. It's on official media. Those CD-R's are worth more and are in greater demand by those who collect prototype games of the optical media format. The downfall is that it's an early build of a game that wasn't very good in the first place. Especially when you don't know the source of the proto.

I can say that I prefer my protos to be on official media (when possible) because it helps to reduce to possibility that its a burn and not legit.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Yeah, I figured as much. It's neat... but I dunno what to ask for it. If I sold it. (Which I may in the future.) I'll keep it around, and make a few videos (if I can get a modded PS2).

Oh, this game doesn't seem to be that bad, I need to get a copy of the final version to compare.

That's true about the official media. It's hard to fake the official media

It is possible though that he could make a bit more than normal since this is Fantastic 4. Not only would you have video game fans bidding for it, but comic book fans would also probably be interested in getting a hold of it.

Either way, it's a great find. I'd say to send an e-mail to Lost Levels as well about the find. It is pretty new, but they still may be interested in information about it.

Except I can't sell it on eBay. You know, no proto rule. And I might get Bobby Kotick on my ass.

I may contact Lost Levels, though... maybe Frank / Red Eye can help me with some magazine scans of the era.

Good thing it was thunderstorming today, or else I would have taken the motorcycle to work, and not had the car to go thrifting today!

My 3-year long quest to get replacement wavebirds was finally sucessful today! (My ex took our old ones, and I didn't want to pay $40-50 each for used ones)

Stupid thrift store priced the controllers at $3.99 each, and both of the receivers in a separate baggie for $3.99. I argued this at the register to no avail.
Also got GC powercord/RF adapter. I was short an AC cord, so this is good.
No system or games to be found anywhere in the store, but probably half a dozen wired first part controllers there that I passed on, as I don't need any more right now.
This is also the second 360 power brick I've gotten there. I figure a few years from now, when I start finding barebones consoles at thrifts and yard sales, I'll be happy to have these.

Also, what the heck is that BEE MARIO from? I havn't played a Mario game since World...
They also had a bowser the same size I really really wanted, but he was missing an eyebrow, so I left him there

All I bought today was Armor Attack and Spacechase for the Atari 2600, loose, for $1.99 each and Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves without an instruction manual for $9.99.

I only bought the copy of Spacechase because I've read that Games By Apollo made the offer to put people's names or initials into the game for a ridiculous amount of money. They only did ten of them or so, and there's no way of telling until you play one. So what the hey, I bought it hoping for the best. Haven't tried it out yet.

He's from Super Mario Galaxy (Wii).

I... kinda want him if only so I can mod him into Mojo King Bee.

2 minutes worth of alterations and it would be Little Nemo.
Best NES game I ever played as a kid.

Yikes! Our local Gamestops sell used Wavebirds for $17 a pop. Sucks you got nickel and dimed on the ones you found though.

So you still walked away with 2 Wavebirds for 12 bucks plus tax? I agree the packaging was dumb but you still got a great deal. That Mario doll was your hint to bee happy (Tip your waitresses ladies and gentleman, I'm here all week)

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I got them, just frustrates me sometimes how arbitrary thrift stores can be sometimes.
also, I went back today to see if any more GC stuff was put out. All I found was 2 different Winnie the Pooh games. And someone had bought all of the wired controllers.

I would've bought them if they were as cheap as the wavebirds, you can get $10-15 for them.

Got a Samsung Nuon controller for $2, but there was no system to be found.

I should get a converter to use it on a PC.

Also got some 30 pin RAM for $0.49, just in case I need it for one of my old PCs.

Got an SNES-mini or SNES 2 or whatever they're called. Nice little compact unit, works great. Got it at a retro gaming store for $27 after I traded in some stuff. It was originally $54 but my trade ins basically halved the price. Came with a controller, and all the hook ups.

Picked up some Sega CD items from eBay, which arrived in horrible shape.

The person packed it in a flat-rate box with no padding at all. Everything was in decent shape before it was sent. Needless to say, this idiot is getting bad feedback unless he gives me a partial refund for all of the damage. I don't care if it was the post office's fault or if someone kicked the box around, you pack for the unexpected.

Sonic CD - Broken top hinge. Fell into my hand when I opened the box.
Chuck Rock II - Cracked front case, scuffed horribly
Night Trap (Red Box) - Box was shoved into the remaining space and crushed, inside holder ripped (couldn't see this in the image)
Corpse Killer (Sega CD) - Tiny bit crushed, otherwise okay
Lethal Enforcers (Big Box, Sega CD) - CD case is from Sherlock Holmes pack-in *shake fist*, but otherwise okay
Lethal Enforcers II (Sega CD) - Perfect condition (???)
