    Default DSLite "freezing" issues

I was given a DSLite to repair, or at least determine what is wrong with the unit.

I turned it on, and notice that the green led flashes a light-green color. Nothing appears on the screen, as it stays black/off. However, whenever I move the upper screen and turn on the unit, the light-green led color turns solid green and the console turns on. While on this state, if I move the top screen, it would freeze the unit.

I tested with an AC adapter and the usual diagnostic procedures...nothing.

So I opened the unit and found something very interesting: while taking out the motherboard and connecting the AC adapter to it (the battery has been taken off), I noticed that the led would turn orange then turn itself off. When I tried turning the unit on, it would not turn on. However, if I were to lightly plug in the adapter into the socket, it would try to turn on for a length of time, but due to my nerves, it would not make a solid connection for too long.

Also, when I would press the area near the AC connector (once the plastic was placed back), I noticed that this would also affect whether the unit would turn off, on, or freeze.

Because of this, I've isolated the problem to either the AC connector OR a part near the connector.

I know some members repair units for a living, so what could be the exact problem? If it is the AC connector, should replacing it fix the problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Any ideas? Anything at all?

Could it be something else? Something still related to power, but not the connector?

Sounds odd, never had any issues like that before, let us know if you figure it out.
