How is it playing Code Veronica without knowing any Japanese? Hard, I imagine?

Not really. I blasted right through it. Then again, I did get to about the halfway point previously in the English GC version, so some of the puzzles came to mind when I found them. Trial and error was king during a majority of the parts that I hadn't played through.
Since it has been a while, I can't remember how frequent katakana turns up. I know 'em all, so I assumed that helped me a tad as well.
In Heaven, everything is fine.
Probably worth a purchase of the Special Edition or whatever it's called, if just for having it in my collection.
What's everything? Need to compare with some eBay BIN's I've been looking at.
Also, I assume there's no spine card for it due to the special packaging? Made a decision that all my DC games will have spine cards, 'cause they're so common on eBay compared to Saturn games with spine cards.
Ooo there's a lot of impressive collections in here! Anyway, here's a mini collection of my import stuff:
It's quite small but I'm really happy with them. Expect it to grow very soon!
Edit: *Off-screen* A Super Famicom system and a 4-in-1 Action Replay converter for the Sega Saturn. xD
I meant the inserts and such. Interestingly, the game does come with an oversized spinecard. It covers the back of the case completely due to the slipcover's lack of screenshots and a barcode. There are two ad slips in the case as well.
Also, there aren't any bonuses besides the slipcover. (None that I'm aware of at least.)
Oh yeah! Dracula X and Radiant Silvergun are fine import starter titles. How much did you pay for both?

IIRC I think I spend about $90 for Dracula X at a import shop back in 2008 which was kinda bad since I overpaid it and it was complete with the game, manual, case, back insert but minus the spine card.
On the other hand, I remembered paying about $5 for Radiant Silvergun from a dealer on craigslist back in 2007 who once told me that the game wouldn't "boot up on his American Saturn" and he kept it stored in a box since then. I offered $5 to buy it and after the personal exchanged, I took it home to check up on its condition. I ordered a 4-in-1 Action Replay from play-asia few weeks in advance prior to the purchase of Radiant Silvergun so I have no wait time to test the game out and yes, it worked perfectly and the game was in mint condition and complete with its spine card. ^__^
Haha, you win!
$90-130 is what Chi no Rondo usually goes for these days, so I wouldn't really say that you overpaid.
Damn, you beat me. I paid 500yen, which is probably about $5.50... but no spine card!
My Dracula X: Chi no Rondo was 4000yen. But, both of these purchases were made while I was actively looking for this stuff for cheap over my four years living in Japan. Well, RSG was acquired through a trade for a game of equal value, but the price was the same.

I originally bought it back in '94 from a store that was using it as a decoration (along with that copy of Gradius II). The boxes were hanging from the ceiling, and it was seeing Gradius II that prompted me to ask the owner about them. He was genuinely surprised that anyone even wanted to look at the games, let alone buy any.
If I knew then what I know now, I'd have bought the entire batch of Famicom games he had - and he had a tub full of them. One game I bought from him, then returned, was Majō Densetsu II: Dai Ma Shikyō Galious. I also bought this Airwolf game that I returned too.
