Default 2600 console & Serial numbers

Does anyone know if on the first day of release of atari 2600,if they put serial numbers pressed in to the backs of systems 1-1000?I seem to remember a video done on the making of Atari and on the first day of release they numbered the first thousand in this way,The Ceo of Atari got the first atari or #1 and the other 999 were sold to Atari emplyees,The reason i ask is i have a heavy 6er with the number 480 factory pressed into the back with no serial numbers inside or out,And the warranty card has the number 480 stamp on it.

If you have the box, you should sell it for $31,600.

That's a first-run Atari VCS from 1977. The first production run had the numbers 1-1000, the first being owned by Atari's CEO at the time.

EDIT: Wait a moment, did you just post twice asking about the Atari VCS serial numbers now?

Without the original S/N sticker, it's difficult to say much about your console. And even with one, dating an H6er is still mostly guesswork.

H6 Serial # List at AA

The 480 stamped into the casing is probably a date code. April, 1980.
