    Default New to Dreamcast. Lag?

I just got my very first dreamcast and decided to start off with a game I knew well from the ps2. Crazy Taxi. Well, anyway's when I play it sometimes there is framerate lag for a couple of seconds when I drift or at certain points during gameplay. I don't remember the ps2 version doing this. Is it normal for the dreamcast to have some framerate problems with this game? Was thinking of getting another DC but not too sure. Thanks.

its normal when i frist had crazy taxi back in the day it always done it
crazy taxi 3 does the same i think its a memory issue on the console or
    it used to much memory
    devleoper is to blame
thats why gta 3 was not released to the dreamcast which is a shame would have been cool

Are you using an original disc or CD-R. For Crazy Taxi is very common to lag when using a CD-R version

I don't remember any lag, but it would not surprise me since that game really pushes the limits of the Dreamcast. Maybe you should watch a gameplay video of it on Youtube and see if it matches your experience. Make sure the video says the are playing on authentic hardware.

Is your TV a CRT or LCD? LCDs tend to show "Dot Crawl" with older Retro systems.
