I was just wondering what your guys' most embarrassing mess-ups were when you were working on your repairs. One of mine was when I accidentally worked on a controller while it was plugged into the console, while that console was also plugged in.

Other than the accidental part, there's really nothing embarrassing about that. You certainly won't get shocked and as long as your careful you won't cause more damage. I mean, how are you sspposed to check voltages and such if it's not plugged in?

Several years ago (I was probably 14) I was working on an old Pentium computer (233Mhz, the good ol' days). I had the motherboard on a table mount and the AT PSU in the open. I just happened to touch the wrong area of the AT PSU when clicking the switch and I shocked myself quite nicely. Funny story today but it sucked back then. Really sucked.
