I can reduce your list by FIVE games, and you won't even have to spend a PENNY!

Barbie Vacation Adventure does not exist for Genesis.
Battle Frenzy does not exist for Genesis.
F1 World Championship Series '94 and '95 do not exist for Genesis. In fact, neither does the original one. It's correct title is Formula One. The alternate title and subsequent sequels may be Mega-Drive only.
Simpsons: Itchy & Scratchy does not exist for Genesis.

These are confirmed through tedious and diligent research with a top-notch group of Genesis fans including Hank at genesiscollective.com. All of these games have ROMS but these are either betas, hacks, or Mega-Drive dumps.

Whatever list you're working off of is outdated. Use the one at http://www.digitpress.com/lists.htm

Good luck with your hunt, you're almost there!

Wow, congrats on being so close to completing a collection.

DP, why do people "think" a game exists when it dosen't, do people put these games in lists just to cause people trouble?

To be fair, the games do exist. They do not exist as released cartridges. That's not the same being nonexistant. It all depends on the purpose of the list in question.

I don't think it's done intentionally - it's just a lack of knowledge. I don't know many people who have actively and aggresively pursued completing a Genesis collection, so very few people can speak from experience. As I got down to the end of my collection, certain games that I had been looking for for YEARS now required extra research. This research sometimes turns up "wasn't released" (like Itchy & Scratchy or Addams Family Values, which appear on everyone's list erroneously for Genny) and sometimes turns up "was released", (like Outback Joey Personal Trainer).

It's my job to get these things sorted out.

Hmm, I had a few of those, but recently sold most of them now.

    I do still have:

Jeopardy! Deluxe Edition GameTek (boxed but w/rental stickers)

Marko's Magic Soccer Ball?? (mine simply says MARKO, the box, manual, cart, & title screen. Apparently there are at least two different roms for this. Genesiscollective, has the same cart scanned, but no box. I noticed his screenshot is of Marko's MSB, my cart just has Marko on the title screen.)

That makes since then. Hank needs to update his site then cuz he's still got it listed as Marko's Magic Soccer Ball.

I have a Great Circus Mystery if that is the one with Mickey & Minnie Mouse. It is complete with box & instructions. I was going to list it on my trade list but make an offer if you want it.

There's only one version of Chavez 2 out there. The Road To New Orleans is probably some football game I guess? Aaaaand Mike at collector's house (forgot the website address) has sealed Wayne's Worlds.

The official title of the game is College Football USA '97: The Road to New Orleans. You can't blame him for shortening it

And actually, isn't there a Spanish version of Chavez II? I've never really looked for it. Or is Chavez II the Spanish version of Boxing Legends of the Ring and that's the confusion?

Hehe, I dunno exactly about Chavez II. I didn't even know Boxing: Legends of the Ring may be the US Chavez 2. Regardless, my copy of Chavez 2 is in Spanish, and what I've heard there was JUST a Spanish text Chavez 2.

    Joe:

Do you know of any other people who have a complete genesis collection or that are extremely close to it?? (Other than Classicgamesdepot)

Can anyone tell me exactly how many U.S. titles have been released on the Genesis?

Oh yeah, check it out! They're practically the same game. A few changes to the menu screens and obviously the language but they're practically the same game!

@Darth Vader: Dave here (portnoyd) is pretty close to complete too. We've helped each other out quite a bit over the past year, ending with Dave giving me his Blockbuster Tournament cart to complete my collection next month!

Thanks for the info Joe. I was just curious how many people were collecting seriously for it. Once I get all of my genny titles alphabatized, I am sure I will be very close as well. It doesn't seem to be too big of a collectible system yet, but I am sure that will change as people complete their NES collection and are looking for a new challenge.

heh, yea before joe let me in on that I was searching like crazy for itchy and barbie, I had a feeling they didn't exist. oh and to answer the question about the collectors, the only other guy I know around here is Joe himself, Collect Genny now before it costs a fortune like nes!, I slowly pursued an nes collection for a long time without buying boxes on e-bay, that was a big mistake, I have all carts accept about 20 but only a little over half of the us boxes :-(, their so expensive now that I never want to bid. Iv got a ton of extra boxes and manuals for all systems, Id really like to start doing some heavy active trading with you guys...better start checking out those trade lists, also,(to joe I got a lot of miscellaneous info for you on the genny rarity guide I could add, I'll be e-mailing you shortly, take care all

I've been slowly collecting Genesis as well. I started back in January (2003) and I'm getting close to 200. I know I still have a long way to go, but I'm not in any hurry. I've been focusing on the harder-to-find games and cartridges which I have empty boxes for.
