    Default NES/Famicom Super Dodgeball 4-player?

    Yo!

I picked up the Japanese version of Super Dodgeball (Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball), and it has a four player option. I disabled the region lock out on my NES and I can play the game fine. However, I cannot get the 3rd and 4th player controllers to work on the NES using my four score.

Anyone have any suggestion to get the four player working for Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball on NES?

    *All controllers work
*Four score works on other 4 player games.

    thanks,
    DogSpirit

Famicom uses different IO ports for its 4 player adapter, so it won't work. It's possible one or a few Game Genie codes could fix the problem.

Thanks for the reply. How could these codes be developed?

Game Genie works by patching the game/system to act differently. The letters you enter change the values and code in the game/system depending on how you enter them. You can blindly enter codes like a crazy person, hoping to get a desired code, or learn how the codes work. I just blindly try out codes, but the only controller alteration code I know of is a Tetris code to play on two controllers. It's possible, theoretically to do what you're after, but it won't be easy.

I found a short blurb about how to allow the U.S. version to select 4 players in Super Dodgeball using the game genie, however the Four Score needs to be rewired to play with those extra two players.

    from the website http://www.rahga.com/nesgg/

"The Japanese version of Super Dodge Ball was able to support four player games by plugging an extra pair of controllers into the Famicom expansion port. When this game was transalated for release in countries like the United States, Nintendo did not yet have a four player adapter for the NES. To make up for this, Technos Japan re-coded one of the menus of the bean-ball game, limiting it as a two-player game. This Game Genie code provides removes this limitation.

    GEUOLZZA

After select bean ball mode, simply press down 2 or 3 times to use the hidden menu items for "3 Player Game" and "4 Player Game".

In order to play these games on an NES, you must re-wire your NES Four Score first. I will post an article on doing this some time in the future."
