Default Cheapest i can realistically get a xbawwwwks 360

    Well,

I want a 360 to Play castle crashers, so d be one that only has the hook ups and a controller,

So, in todays given market, how cheap can i realistically get a bundle for that? rule out variables like flea markets, as buying one there would be...fishy without testing on site, as most flea 360s are broken.

But otherwise, thats all im asking.

I bought my second one from a pawn shop for $5. It had the red ring of death. Then, I got a game store here in town to repair it for $50 of in-store credit. It works great!

I'm sure you can find one off fleabay that you can get around $70-$120 with controllers, cords, etc. Just make sure you buy one from a respectable seller who offers a return policy/warranty.

Unless you personally know the seller or it comes with a guarantee, buying a used 360 is completely foolish. You are better off saving for a few months and paying the $200 for one of the new slim line 4GB models. They are super quiet, super reliable and very nice looking, plus they come with a warranty. Barring that, I would get one of the older models for $150 new.

I personally would not get a used unit, since one does not know what kind of use (or abuse) it has taken. That is, unless it's dead cheap.

Otherwise, I would invest in a new unit if possible.

You can get a refurbished one on Wal-Mart.com for a pretty decent price, that's how I got mine and it hasn't burnt my house down or anything yet.

I really should put something in my tag stating where it's from, since it seems threads keep on getting derailed because of it.

    Edit: Done.

The risk versus reward in a used Xbox 360 is just too great. Not only having to contend w/ RRoD, but also modified/banned systems, which may not be outwardly obvious, that is, until you plug it in and try to connect to Live to purchase Castle Crashers.

I'll add that Castle Crashers is good. Real good. I enjoyed it very much. But if you have a PS3, then you can already buy it (or may be able to soon). Not 100% its out for PS3 yet, as I haven't turned mine on in a month. But its out very soon.

If you don't mind getting one fixed, I'll sell you a RRoD system with one wireless controller, 20 gig HD, hookups with all the docs in the box for $60 + shipping. It's a near launch system (purchased the January after the 360 launched). This system is not modded and not banned from XBL. I'll also throw in the 3 Burger King games (Whoopity doo) to get you started. I never got around to getting it fixed so that's why I still have it.

And exit, dude. You win sig of the year since everytime you post, someone asks about it.

Yeah, what these guys said (mostly). If you buy one used- make sure it has not been opened and is within the 3 year warranty window (date of manufacture on the back) for red red. Disc read errors are not covered, though.

I sold a working Xbox 360 w/ 20gb hard drive, component cables, 1 controller, some sports games, original box + papers for less than $100 on Craigslist. I think there was around a year left on the warranty? If you poke around you can get some good deals.

I'd wager they may have some promotional deals for the white/black non slim 360's soonish?

Good luck- it's a fun system. I show mine way more love than my PS3. Oddly enough- it's been cheaper even though it's failed more. 1 ps3 died- cost just shy of $200 to get it fixed. 3 Xbox 360's (at least?) bit the dust and it hasn't cost me a penny - and they usually give free MS points and at least XBL time too.

If you're pretty you could trade yourself for a night for one.
