PAL NES: Dragon Warrior games (NTSC) playable when made regionfree?

I was wondering if anyone could verify if the Dragon Warrior games (in particular IV) would play in a PAL NES console with the simple 'cut out the fourth pin for region free play' fix.

I would feel horrible to mutilate a perfectly fine NES and then find out it doesn't work either way.

i've played through the first game on my converted pal nes and it worked no probs, not sure about the forth as i've never played it, but im sure it should be ok..

and it's deffo a good idea to make your machine region free as that way you can unlock a whole world of interesting titles from other countries

Perfect, thanks for sharing this information. Guess I can already start with the first DW entry then. If someone can chime in with information about the other DW games: feel welcome (although they probably indeed work)!
