Default Video blinks off on N64 game sometimes.

I dug out my N64 last night for some retro fun. Almost all of the games worked fine (one needs a new battery). However, Perfect Dark does not. While playing it, the video intermittently cuts out and then comes back on. I've cleaned it thoroughly and that hasn't helped. The cutting out just leads to a blank screen (audio still works) for a second, and then back to the game. It seems to happen at regular intervals. I haven't timed it, but while trying to play, I got to the point where I knew exactly when it was going to happen.

I'm kinda lost at this point as to what could be wrong.

Hmm,it could be the expansion pack. If you use unofficial ones the video sometimes cuts out with games that require the extra memory for gameplay. Try cleaning the contacts on the expansion pack as well. Also turn off Hi-Res mode in the options menu in Perfect Dark. Not only does it slow the game down a bit but sometimes it has glitches that make the video go black or freeze the game completely. A long shot, but if you used a GameShark any time with Perfect Dark that can really screw the thing up if you used it a lot.
