So I'm actually importing a Super Famicom console.
I found one for cheap 20 bucks and 24 shipping, so I got it. now I live in the US. Now what do i need to know about using the Super Famicom. I'm mostly concerned about the power stuff. I heard you can use a Genesis model 1 AC adaptor with it, I just want to know is it safe and if it will damage it.

The guy in that video says 10 V DC but my model 1 Genesis AC Adaptor only ouputs 9 V DC, will that be a problem?

No,your super fami will work just fine using 9v dc.
Now that I look, it turns out my Sega CD AC adaptor is the one with 9V DC output but my actual Genesis model 1 AC adaptor has 10V DC output, which would be better to use?

Super Famicom power adapter input: AC 100V 50/60Hz output: 10 VDC, 850 mA, center pin negative. If you have the Super Famicom power supply it is safe to use that. The extra voltage that our outlets supply is within its tolerance.
Concerning voltage: The Super Famicom has a 7805 voltage regulator inside. The voltage regulator has an operating range of 7V to 35V with more heat being produced at higher voltages. Its output is 5V across that input range. Your Super Famicom will just as happily run with 9V as it would 10V.

Yea, thanks for the information, but the reason the Super Famicom I got was so cheap is because it was console only no cords no controllers, so I need something I have that I can use. Also it's yellowing.Originally Posted by RP2A03

The SNES/Super Famicom uses a 7805 voltage regulator that takes anything from 7V to 18V and brings it down to 5V for the system to use. Though the higher the voltage the more heat it dissapates. Also 850ma is plenty for it, the SNES/SFC will only use what it needs, so even if you had a 1A DC adapter it will not use the full 1A. A Genesis 1 DC adapter works great for the Super Famicom, please don't confuse it with an AC adapter that is used with the NES system, an AC adapter will fry both the Super Famicom and a Genesis 1.
