Default Cybermorph for the Jag gets no love. WHY?

I recently got an Atari Jaguar after not having one since I got rid of mine to make way for a 3DO and Sega Saturn system way back in the day. They go for alot of cash on Ebay, so I got an "as is" one for a decent price, and then I picked up a copy of Cybermorph for super cheap, just so I would have one game to play on it, until I could get ahold of some more games for cheap.

I've been playing Cybermorph for a couple of days, and it's brought back some great memories. I personally feel that Cybermorph is a very underated game. If my memory serves me correct, Cybermorph was one of the first games on a console to feature "fly anywhere" freedom. Sure the landscapes were sparse, with little detail, and a whole lotta pop up, but the pure freedom of the game was pretty revolutionary at the time.

The idea of collecting pods was kinda weak, admittedly, but each of the little worlds that you would fly around on, had their own feel and flavor. Not to mention some weird pastel colors for the landscapes. Each world had it's own share of enemies that would be flying around, or on the ground, doing their own thing, whether you were in their vicinity or not.

I just can't believe that there could be a Top 25 Jaguar Games list, and that it wouldn't include Cybermorph! Sure, Cybermorph isn't the greatest game on the Jag, by any means, but there is no way that it doesn't belong in the Top 25. I personally don't think that the Jag even has 25 carts that are worth being ranked.

So Cybermorph should definitely get a spot on the chart.

I remember playing Cybermorph in a supermarket in 1996 when the console came to Argentina and i remember that i said: "this game sucks"...and then a few years ago played again and said again: "this game sucks"

Don't listen to these guys. Cybermorph is a great game! I played this game for quite some time and even finished it back in the day. As mentioned, definitely one of the most underrated Jag games around.

Besides, Joe thinks 5200 Countermeasure sucks so it's obvious he has no taste in games...

These guys must all be hung over from yesterday evening, or something. Because otherwise, there's no way to explain such crazy opinions!

In MY opinion (the one that counts!), Cybermorph is an OK title - nothing great, but certainly better than 'sucks!', 'yuck!', or any of the other slams above.

As for Countermeasure - this game seemed like it may be pretty cool when I first got it (when it was new), but after playing it for a few minutes I realized it was just far too easy, and pretty damn boring. SO, take all of the misguided comments above demeaning Cybermorph, and apply them to Countermeasure.

Cybermorph is pretty "bleh" for me. Even when I played it when it was new it really didn't do anything for me. It doesn't really do anything new except maybe push polygons. Even then the "fly anywhere" deal was already done. Heck you can take an F15 for a spin on the Genesis with full range, and that game came out the same year as Cybermorph.

OK, I guess I'm just a goofball, when it comes to Cybermorph. I know that the game is way too easy, and that the graphics are pretty blah, but oh well. I like it.

I can't really say Cybermorph did anything for me, but if you enjoy it, then knock yourself out. The only Jaguar game that ever impressed me was T2K -- what a lousy machine.

If you like Cybermorph, you'll love the sequel Battlemorph. It does everything 10x better. Gameplay music, hidden worlds, quasi-Sean Connery voiceovers- heck, even the 3D solar system models are cool!

I popped in Cybermorph awhile back (after a LONG Jag hiatus) & thought "man, how bleak & barren this looks!"

Too much time on my PS2, I guess...
