and most of the games ends up on ebay
I can garantee that most of the "overstock" in those stores will sell out before Xmas.
It's Mario, and at least at work, it's one of the game series that sells the most. Today alone I have like eight people ask for the game in particular, and quite a few asking for the other games in the series.

I'm going to get it after Christmas....
Over 40 copies came in today, so it is still shipping.
Oddly enough the 30+ copies my local Best Buy had on display were all gone today. I'm sure they will be getting more in but the first batch sold well during the first week.

Has anyone sat down to compare one of the Mario games between the three versions (Wii All-Stars, SNES All-Stars and original NES)? I found with the Classic Controller I had issues with the more hairy jumps, like the single block pillars at the end of level 8-1 in SMB. I zipped past them on the SNES and got a little tricky on the NES version. Could be the controllers as they are all different (C.C.'s buttons are raised more, controller is wider and the D-Pad is designed different compared to the more compact SNES controller and the boxy NES pad). Could be emulation differences.
While the game is really a ROM on a disk like others have said, it IS very sharp visually. After playing it, I wish V.C. titles had the option to go 4:3 if the Wii is set to wide screen.
The noticeable input lag might have something to do with your control issues. I've found myself making more mistakes and accidentally dying more often in this compilation compared to the original SNES release.
Yeah, all those copies that were sold are already appearing on ebay resellers stores.
I'd give it a month or two, once people aren't buying and don't care the price will drop.
I played this at a friend's house (on a several-years-old HD LCD tv) and definitely found myself dying and slip-sliding around with a certain latency compared to the SNES original. I was using the standard wiimote.
In Super Mario 2, sometimes I actually had trouble going up vines. Tended to keep sliding off, even though I was just pressing up.
Gotta say, the graphics looked sharp though. Vibrant colors.
See I told you
Resellers knows Mario is a Hot Item, They bought up all the stock at Stores & selling on ebay start jacking up the price
Right before Christmas, my cousin and I were in Meijer to see if they had a vintage looking record player and to spend a $50 gift card he had for the store. He had his heart set on getting DK Country Returns with it. While we were perusing the Wii section looking for the DK game, I spotted the SMB All-Stars game and mentioned he should get it. He said he'd spent enough that day already so I shrugged and left it at that.
There was one guy running the entire electronics section so we had to wait in a long arse line to get the DK game. The person just ahead of us in line was there to pick up a copy of the SMB game so we followed her and the attendant back to the case so we could get the DK game and save the guy a trip. On the way to the case, she remarked on how she had to pay $70 for the game on Amazon.
My cousin and I looked at each other and I whispered that she was insane to pay that much for it with it being in most stores still. He looked at me curiously for a second so I replied "Why would you pay $70 for a $30 game?" My cousin's eyes immediately lit up and he goes "It's only $30? I thought it was $50!" Needless to say, he wasted no time snatching a copy up for himself.
"Ai Oboete Imasu Ka?"
Finally opened my copy up yesterday and played around with it for an hour or so. The preferred controller option is definitely this...
I didn't notice any lag resulting in any screwy jumps or untimely deaths. I'm just excited I finally have a game I can use this with (not really a VC person).

Actually going for close or over $70!

To think...I had three copies and I gave one for basically the same price I paid (because it arrived a bit squished in the mail). Still have two, one sealed and minty, so I am very happy.

Has anybody complaining about timing issues tried it with a Gamecube controller (or that awesome Hori SNES style controller) plugged directly in to the system? Perhaps that'll rectify timing issues.

I'm planning to buy it in a couple months, I'm just a little worried, about the value right now
