I think these things are cool but because they are junk I stay away from them. I bought the genmobil and it broke within the same day I got most likely from pushing the cartridge in too hard. Wireless controllers use obsolete technology so they just piss you off. Only thing I worry about is in 50 years will there still be any genesis's around.
Here's working links.

Might as well wait until those get released before buying anything. If at all.
The wireless Sonic-shaped one is $20 at Walgreens right now, goes back to $30.00 tomorrow. I'll be honest, it's pretty damn nice. The controllers and console are solid and work really well.
Anyone did a youtube review of the Arcade Joystick one??

I picked up one of these today... nothing amazing about it, but cool for the price. It seems to play the majority of Genesis games I put on the card, which is cool. The controllers aren't bad, though I'd much prefer to be able to plug in real Genesis controllers.
I'm really surprised how well the wireless controllers work though... I was worried when I saw that they were IR wireless (not RF), but they're pretty good... they really don't need direct line of sight. I was sitting comfortably on my bed, with the console on the floor by the TV. The only path was reflecting off the ceiling, and I never noticed it missing any button presses.

I think that this is a bit harsh.
While there is never any substitute for genuine hardware, I'd hardly call any of the AtGames licensed Genesis hardware "trash".
Other than the wonky music and lack of save state in the SD Card hardware, they're all decent options for people not interested in spending the time and money on actual Genesis hardware and the equivalent software. (In most cases the cost of buying actual Genesis hardware AND the actual 20+ individual on-board games on their individual cartridges would FAR exceed the cost of buing these units alone).
These are for casual gamers looking for a low-cost plug-and-play Genesis fix, or collectors like myself that enjoy the novelty and convenience of clone hardware.
No need to "boycott" something that's not hurting anybody.

Aye, but if the upgrade is marginal to almost non-existant, why continue to release it over and over again?
i know they are in it for the money, but after all this time one would think they (AtGames) would at LEAST fix the emulation issue with at least most of it's games. Not just continue releasing clone after clone hoping "for a quick buck".
I rather "boycott" or not get their releases until it's confirmed that they have resolved this sound issue (and not ruin anything else in the process). Why get something for the 7th time if it's the same thing as previous models with minimal or no improvement? Kind of a waste of money for me...and quite useless.

While I wouldn't be opposed to Genesis clone makers (AtGames or any other company making them) correcting the audio issues, I don't personally find it to be distracting to any great degree. I know that it frustrates some, and that's fine ... but as long as the games work I don't see it as a major issue.
And as far as your criticism of each of these units being the same thing over and over - the form factor and functionality of each unit seems to be different enough for me to not question them expanding their product line. (Some play actual Genesis/Mega Drive cartridges, some have SD Card slots, some are arcade sticks, some have wireless joypads, etc.)
If you don't feel like spending your own money that's perfectly reasonable, but again, these units are likely not made with our highly discerning tastes in mind ... they're for the more casual consumer looking for a smaller footprint device that'll play Genesis stuff.
They're not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but they're functional enough to fit their intended purpose and justify their reasonable price point(s).
If the auido/save state issues are enough to turn you off, by all means hold off on buying one until they have that worked out. Maybe they will someday, anything's possible.

More talk of this in other forums. It's funny, I started a thread over on KLOV and it has nearly 5,000 views, crazy
It's a pretty decent little system. I picked up two when they were on sale at Walgreens for $20 and got a $5 credit on a future purchase so only ended up paying $15 a few weeks ago.
