    Default MMMC - Roc'n Rope

OK, we're going to give it a try...and of course, as usual I'm a day late. Anyway, this week let's play this semi-well known Konami game. I've not played the original arcade game in 20+ years.

    Have fun!

As for the ROM, drop.io is being discontinued, and it seems like I can't upload it there anymore... so ideas for new hosting would be appreciated. Assuming we have enough people that still want to play along.

Bah, Stupid Facebook buying and ruining drop.io...I hadn't heard about it until now. I haven't really used any of the other free file hosting sites that were as convenient so I can't suggest any others at this point.

Anyways, fun looking game. I'll have to make sure I give it a try this week.

I have always had a soft spot for this game. Longtime DP members may remember my 16 year long search for the 2600 cart. For the life of me though...I can't "get" this game. I've maybe beaten the first level 1-2 times. But I absolutely love the game.

I used to be pretty good at this game back in the day. but I doubt I could get off of the first screen anymore these days.

Cool game. Never played it back in the day, but discovered it on MAME. Takes some getting used to and definitely provides a challenge, but addictive and fun !

I also have a love/hate relationship with it.

The music, gameplay concepts and aesthetics were always compelling, but the ability to make a fatal error is so easy that the game requires a level of dedication and mastery that I've never put the time into.

(I saved my climbing and grappling expertise for Congo Bongo and Bionic Commando arcade respectively.)

I popped it on yesterday and didn't manage to get past the first level after three credits ... maybe I'll give it another go today.

I'm going to let this one go for another week, I'd like more people to stumble in (hopefully) and see it...also, I'd like to see someone make it past the first screen :P

I finally got a chance to play it. I managed to get to stage 3 but that was all I was concerned about and only had a score of 7000 something. Once on stage 3 though, I couldn't even get up 1 level much less to the spinning platform thing. Still a pretty fun game.
