    Default Dead SNES?

So I bought a snes today which looks brand new and I can't get any picture or sound out of it. All the cords are original, and the power light turns on, but I get no picture. Resetting it over and over gets me static for a second and then nothing.

Any idea what it could be? Tried it on 3 tvs, and I don't have an extra cable to try it with.

EDIT: Getting a green screen with white squares at random now, not sure if that helps.

    Clean the cartridge connector.
Clean the carts you are using.
    Try new A/V and/or R/F cords.

Try a new RF Switch. I've had a dead one for the Genesis which just showed a black screen, when I switched it out everything worked fine.

The fact that when you turn it on and the power light comes on, and the screens switches over (to something) tells me it's not dead. Like mentioned, try cleaning the cart, try a different cart, swap out the A/V cable. More than likely it's probably just dirty carts/contacts.

I think it's the power cord that's the problem. It won't power on anymore now.

Well, it's definitely something to do with the power. I've tried TWO snes power cords and it just blinks red for a second and then nothing.

What would cause this? I'm opretty sure i'm going to junk it for parts if I can't find a solution.

Maybe the A/C Input Jack on the SNES mainboard needs a reflow. Or the pins that make the connection might be loose. See what happens if you slowly move the A/C cord at the connection where it goes into the system. If it seems to want to turn on and off, then that's your problem.
