Default Which is Better? Tron 360/PS3 or Wii

Of the two new Tron games out, does anyone have an opinion which version is better, Tron Evolution for the PS3 or Tron Evolution Battle Grids for the Wii? Thinking of getting one of these for Christmas but not sure which one to get. Rented the PS3 version and think it's ok but haven't tried the Wii and would like to know if anyone has played both and their thoughts. Thanks.

Tron Evolution for PS3/360 is an action adventure game with character mechanics similar to Prince of Persia or Ninja Gaiden. It takes place in 1989 and bridges the story between the two films and has online multiplayer grid games. The characters are rendered realistically and in the style of the new film.

Tron Evolution Battle Grids for the Wii is a collection of individual mini-game-type events tied together with a story mode. It takes place prior to the events of the PS3/360 Evolution game (described by the developers as a time of peace and harmony on the grid) and the characters are all rendered in a cartoon style similar to Star Wars Clone Wars or the Ghostbusters game on Wii. The multiplayer is local only, no online and no Wii Motion Plus.

I've really enjoyed what I've played of the PS3 version of Tron Evolution, and I'll likely get Battle Grids when it goes on sale, as it does look pretty fun and well made.

I'm not sure if the gameplay or story in Evolution (PS3) is enough to hold the attention of anybody who's not a die-hard fan of Tron, but it's very solid stuff visually and mechanically.

    Thread title edited for clarity.

The Wii version was reviewed much better than the PS3/360 version, if you go by reviewers takes.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Thanks, I'm just trying to decide which one to get. Target had it in their ad for $37. Was that a good price? Picked one up but haven't opened yet.

I'm an old-time Tron fan and I really came to hate the 360 game (which I am pretty sure is exactly the same on the PS3). It looks good, but after an hour or two, I simply gave up. Frustrating controls, endless deaths because you can't make a jump -- that kind of thing. The multiplayer wasn't particularly fun either.

I really would hesitate to spend a lot on it right now. It's sure to crash under $20 in the next couple of months and isn't worth much more than a weekend rental.

Better to invest your cash in one of the cool Tron limited edition controllers...paying $40 for one of those seemed to satisfy my fanboyishness (lol) and it actually works great (even if the 360 and ps3 versions are wired) compared to the game.

If the Wii version is anything to go on, if I ever end up sucked into an alternate universe hosted inside a computer, remind me to stay away from the light cycles. After about four tries, I remain the opposite of undefeated.

I just finished Tron Evolution on PS3.

Average all around. A rental for those who aren't die-hard Tron fans.

Nice graphics, solid play control somewhere between Prince of Persia and God of War with a few standard 3rd person gaming flaws (bad camera, bad auto-lock on) and a decent story to lead into Tron Legacy, no major twists, but it plays out well enough and reveals some things that they don't discuss in the film.

Online is a decent addition with all the standard modes you'd expect (deathmatch, team deathmatch, and zone capture games). I do really enjoy the multiplayer maps that allow for light-bike use. The small-scale maps that don't just tend to be a cluster of mele attacks, but the big spaces allow for some really fun hop-on-hop-off cat & mouse light-bike combat.

The Wii game is now on my radar for sure.

    Wish it had online multiplayer

Is $37 a good price for Tron Evolution for the PS3? Curious about other's opinions.

Does the PS3 version of Tron support 3D? I recently got a 3D plasma. I'm loving Super Stardust 3D and Motorstorm 3D, but haven't really tried any of the other 3D games. I should try to rent Tron to check out the 3D effects.

Just wondering if the Wii game is any good or bad. Any opinions from someone that has it?

Now that TRON: Evolution is on Steam for $20, I'd like to hear more opinions on TRON: Evolution and TRON: Evolution Battle Grids. Anyone got some opinions to share?
