    Right, so. Story time.

Yesterday... I found a ton of albums I wanted. I had like fourteen albums all lined up, with tons of music from back when I was in highschool. I was going to get them all... until I inspected the discs. They were so scratched it almost made me cry. I ended up grabbing these two:

KRBE Collector Disc #2: New Music Zone Edition (1993, not for resale promotional V/A compilation)
    MTV Amp (1998 V/A compilation)
(Links go to their respective RYM pages with tracklists.)

They're pretty good. Amp has quite a bit of one-hit wonders from my highschool years.

    Today's finds:

    Robocop 2 OST: $2
    Inspector Gadget score (promotional): $1
Adam Ant: Antics in the Forbidden Zone: $1
    Diablo: $1
Point Blank 3, Wipeout 3, Star Wars Ep. 1 Jedi Power Battles: $2 EACH O_o

YES, TWO BUCKS EACH. There was this one booth setting up and they just tossed a bucket with a ton of games and pads inside. Most games were sports games (racing, golf or football) but I noticed Wipeout 3 first. I picked it up and was amazed at the price, so I bought it. A bit later I picked up Jedi Power Battles. The seller told me they were bringing out more stuff, so I waited. Point Blank 3 was in that lot so I grabbed it right away. ALL GAMES ARE MINT. Woo.

On the way out, I saw that guy who sold me Scurge: Hive and KOF 98 Ultimate Match a few months ago. He had a few more games, and I picked up both of these for $10. I remember Back to Stone being kinda hyped for some reason... I forget why. But it stood out in my mind enough to purchase it. The box is kinda dinged up but it's still new.

Ugh, I know what you mean. This happens to me all the time at this one thrift store that's by a local college with a nationally known radio station. I always see rare demo/promo CDs from 1988-2010 there, and more often than not, they're totally beat to shit and unplayable in the end. Sometimes I'll buy them just to see if they work, and if they fail, I still have the CD book/artwork/whatever.

I don't have a CD player. All I have is my DVD drive and I'd rather rip them to my computer instead... CD players are usually a lot more tolerant of scratches, but not my PC drives. So I just leave 'em behind. I don't usually buy promo CDs anymore either, unless the album is particularly rare and I can't find another copy anywhere.

And then there's the whole CD rot thing that I'm having to deal with more and more every day. Bloody hell. I almost bought the soundtrack CD for The Terminator two weeks ago, but... :\

I bought this factory sealed in the hopes of selling my opened copy, only to find out that this is a sealed demo version. I'm not sure if this demo contains the full game(and I'm not willing to open it up to find out) but on the other side of the case you can see an instruction sheet with controller directions and theres no back case art.

So now I know that some 3DO Japanese games were released in demo form(factory sealed) with the same front case/manual artwork as the full game versions. The only way to tell the difference is by looking for the spine card--only the full versions have those.

    oh jeez...

I posted new links to better (non-cell-phone photos) on my original post, and they are freaking huge. If they are causing too much of a disturbance in the thread, I will gladly remove them. Sorry in advance if that is the case!

Genesis - Jurassic Park Rampage Edition (complete) - 3
NES - River City Ransom (cart) - 6

I already got rampage but this was in beautiful like new condition to replace my battered one. Hard to find those paper case games that haven't been abused. RCR even though common, I NEVER see around here, and never for under 10, so I picked that up without a problem.

That's pretty interesting. If I didn't just drop mad cash (for me anyway) on a pair of 2006 TRON Adidas sneakers, I might have to make an offer.

I have my copy buried (on the shelf) so I can't check but doesn't the full release simply have a Sailormoon S logo on the back of the instruction booklet? I've seen a pretty convincing pressed bootleg of Sailormoon on the 3DO that looked damn good except for incorrect disc art and a single color inside booklet. ...I should have bought it. Sailormoon games are like my subset collection for gaming.

I've kind of gone on a binge, I hadn't bought any games for a little while but with a trade I made with Kroogah, I wanted a new DS, which made me look at the DS library, which made me buy more and more...

    From Kroogah,
    Korg DS-10 Plus (DS)
    White Knight Chronicles (PS3)

    From Wife,
DSI XL (Plus she got $20 promotional credit from buying it which led to...)

    From Amazon, all DS
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (Free with the credit )
    Apollo Justice
    Sonic Chronicles
    Theresia

I hadn't checked my Reward Zone points at Best Buy for some time, and it turned out I had $55 worth, so I took advantage of some games on sale.

    Professor Layton 3 (DS)
    Picross 3D (DS)
    Pokemon HeartGold (DS)
Final Fantasy: Advent Children Complete (Blu-Ray)

    After tax, I owed $1.

And hopefully I can say that Pier Solar came in the next few days too!

    Okay lot sale finds:

On Tuesday I found a PS2 (30001 model) with a network adapter attached. That was $5. I haven't tested it but I got home and powered it up (to see if anything was in the CD drive). It powers up fine and is in good shape (the seal isn't broken either). It looks promising. I took off the network adapter and put it with my others. It's time to sell another grouping of 4 on eBay.

There were a few interesting things today. I got a bare Game Gear, with both battery covers (!). I'm going to test it out but if it doesn't work the covers will be available as replacements. That was $3.

Also, digging in a box of VHSes and audio cassettes I found a copy of MacArthur's War: Battles for Korea. The cover art on this game is great. It's the 5.25" IBM/Tandy version. It looks like a really cool game, and I'll have to try it out. It was a mere $0.50.
Check my auctions here! I am in the business of finding off-beat things, including video game stuff!

    View my collection!

Yesterday was my first thrift store jaunt in a while. Goodwill still sucks.

    All PS1 and complete

Family Card Games (up for trade)
NHL Rock the Rink (one that I surprisingly didn't already have)
    Virtual Pool (up for trade)

Then, I happened to find a factory sealed VHS tape of three episodes of the British comedy Keeping Up Appearances. I sent it to my mom.
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.

    Too bored to post pictures.

From Goozex: CSI Hard Evidence (I didn't even get a notification that this was sent to me... and this was sent over ten days ago. Bleh.)

From the flea market: Spiritual Warfare (NES, cart only), Joshua (NES, cart only), and King of Kings (NES, with box, manual, and paper cart sleeve). $6 total.

Yeah, we still get Brit coms on PBS on Saturday nights - Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearances, My Family and As Time Goes By. It doesn't come on where my folks live, so I figured it would do her a lot more good than it would do me.

And you're right. It's one of the funniest ever. RI-CHARD!!!

Blew my Christmas money on a number of New Year scores from Amazon and Goodwill:

From Amazon’s End of Year deals between Christmas and New Year’s:

Diamond Select Star Trek TOS Tricorder $19.99
Diamond Select Star Trek TOS Communicator $13.99
Xbox 360 Quick Charger with Battery (Black) $19.99
Halo Mega Blocks Arctic Wolverine w/ Hunter $9.99
Kids in the Hall Complete Series DVD Megaset $42.99
    Farscape Complete Series DVD $47.49

    And from Goodwill this week:

MacFarlane Halo Reach Noble 6 Figure (#5 from this series I’ve found at a GW) $4.99
    PS1 Virtual Pool $1.99
1001 Classic Commercials 3-DVD set $3.99 (Too early for any video game commercials, but lots of cool toy ads from the 50s-70s!)
    3 PS2 & Xbox games - $1.99 each
    3 NES games - .99 each
    2 N64 games - .49 each
Gamefest PC D&D game collection $2.99 (Sealed) – 14 old TSR D&D RPGs (Pool of Radiance, Eye of the Beholder, etc.)
6 Battlebot pocketbots .99 each (sealed) will likely decorate the end of shelving unit)

A good way to start 2011, in my opinion,

    Rich

That is wild, I was at a goodwill recently and they had a copy of it also for $1.99, I passed.

May as well post what I did find though as I don't do much thrifting anymore.

Found a complete copy of the first L4D game for 7.99 which I snagged just because it was there, seems to work fine but I allready own it. Just thought it was weird to actually find a 360 game at goodwill?

Also found complete copies of FF 8 and Parasite Eve, both black label for $4 at a pawn shop the same day.

Copy of MK 2 for the game gear loose for $1.50.

And that will prob be it for another year.
