Default What is a Copy of Seiken Densetsu 3 Worth?

    Hey everyone,

So, I've got this copy of Seiken Densetsu 3 that I found a while back. I've been debating whether I should mod my SNES (or buy a converter) to play this. Anyway, after much thought, I realized that I probably wouldn't play it all that much. So I'm wondering how much I could sell the game for.

My copy is cart only, but the label is in good shape with no tears, rips, or stains. The cart itself also in great shape, with no yellowing or cracks. However, there is a letter "V" written on the back of the cart in what I believe is pencil crayon. Anyone know of good way to get it off without damaging the cart?

Also, I'm assuming that the internal battery is deader than a doornail by now.

Cart-only copies seem to be around the $10-20 range:

If it's cart only japanese, 5$.
I bought a few Japanese boxed versions for less then 15$ shipped via air mail back in december.

I cropped it from artwork on the character section of the official website: http://www.solarobo.channel.or.jp/chara/index.html

I would assume the battery is still working fine, actually. But, yeah, I've seen complete copies sell for under $20 recently, so a loose cart isn't worth much. Most loose SFC carts in general aren't very desirable since most importers want complete games, so in terms of eBay and other outlets for importers, it may actually be easier to find a complete copy of a game than a loose one. Also, SFC prices in general seem to be down compared to where they were at 5-10 years ago. In the past, a complete SD3 could pull in $50 easily.

Also, what's with all the Solatorobo going on in here? o_O I'm glad I'm not the only fan here on Digital Press.

Hey, I remember you showing off your collector's edition copy on the DP forum last year. Actually, it was that picture that got me interested in the game in the first place.

I just ordered the regular edition a week ago from Play-Asia. I chose the Airmail Economy shipping because I couldn't afford anything faster. It might take a bit longer to get here, but it will well worth the wait.

I wish I had the money for collector's edition though. The packaging and extras look so cool!

Cool, I'm glad I could help get you interested in the game. It really is an excellent game, and it's a damn shame that it's probably going to go unknown in the Western world. I hope in time it'll earn the cult classic status it deserves, after people learn about it and, in some cases, get over whatever bias that may keep them from giving it a chance given that the game has anthro characters (not that it stops people from playing Sonic or Star Fox, but people can be stupid like that. They're okay if it's something they grew up with, but if it it's foreign to them, then it's "lol furries").

I had to wait awhile to play the game too, despite that I pre-ordered it. I didn't get to play it until about a week into December because I had problems with my DS, but it was well worth the wait. I still have even more to do in the game since I've yet to download the extra quests.

The Collector's Edition is indeed really cool, but I do wish the soundtrack had more music. You can buy all of the tracks in the game for the sound test mode, which comes out to about 80 tracks I believe, but the OST only has 20-some.

The collector's edition is definitely great. I don't regret preordering it. I think to me the best part isn't the soundtrack, but the artbook. I love having the full collection of all the production sketches; it really shows how well they've thought out the game world.
