    Default PStwo repair needed

Turned on my v12 slim PStwo for the first time since November and it can't play discs for some reason. System powers up and I can navigate the system menus & options but whenever I put a disc in and close the lid, nothing happens. I left the PS2 turned on overnight by accident a few months ago, so I think that probably has something to do with it.

The PS2 is chipped, so I'd really like to get it repaired instead having to buy a new system + chip and paying someone to solder it in for me. Is there anyone here who does PS2 repairs that can help me out?

Does it spin? If it does not, it's probably a lens/motor issue.

This can be replaced relatively cheaply...for less than $10 for the entire assembly.

The v12 PsTwo's were notorious for burning lasers when they were chipped. They need a special part to keep them from burning up.

Mine went through 4 lasers before I bought and installed the new part. It's gone over a year with the same laser now

It's called a diode laser fix.

I think this is it ?

No, it doesn't spin at all.

When I bought the PS2 pre-modded 4 years ago, the seller said he did do the laser fix on it. Must have just worn out by now.

The last time I took my PS2 apart, it was a complete mess and I didn't know what it was doing. I'd rather just ship this out to someone who knows what they're doing and pay them to deal with it.

You want to go with a laserfix that uses an IC for active management. The best choices available are the Comsoft V3/V4 or the NeoFix XIV.
