That's the one that I want. That thing looks SAWEET!
That's the one that I want. That thing looks SAWEET!
That's not even an original product. C=USA just bought them from some chinese company and slapped a new sticker on it. I believe it's from CyberNet's ZPC line, but I'm not certain.
I'd love to have one of C-64's just for the nostalgia. Got a ton of boxes of C64 stuff I got from my dad I'd love to use. Anyone know any prices yet?
From the front page on yahoo.com is this article talking about what the new commodore 64 will look like along with pictures like web surfing. It also say's that it will ship at the end of this month and cost between $250-$900. It's a long article so go here to read more about it http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home...mmodore-64-nyt Also didn't know if this belonged here do to the fact this is a remake of a classic machine if not will someone move it for me. Thanks.

"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
Yup,.it's real. There was an article about it in the la times. They said the first batch of them had already sold out.
I saw this yesterday and thought that it was awesome. btw, shouldn't this be in the classic computer section? That section needs more recognition.
This has been talked about to death on most of the retrocomputing forums I visit.
The consensus seems to be that it's extremely overpriced (the $250 price iss for just the shell and keyboard), but some like the retro facade.
Personally, I'd love to get the case, or better yet, a VIC-20 themed one, but at that price, it's not gonna happen.
It would have been cool if at least the higher end model was 64bit.
I know it's a tad off topic, but they aren't as overpriced as Sony Vaio laptops. Just saw the newest models and the price is literally RAPE...just because it's "Sony".
I bet if Sony would release the Commodore computers, they would be much, MUCH more expensive.
Anyway, I'm really interested in the old C64 looking one. Doubt it will reach PR, but if it does, I might pick up the cheapest version.

When I saw this I filed it under want, but I moved it to sort of want after reading the specs. I'd want a more powerful PC for the price they're asking, and $250 for a case isn't that great. I'd still love to have one of these, but I think I'll wait for a later run. Especially since the OS isn't even released yet.
I have a sig?
If I could get one of these for under $100, I'd probably grab it....especially if it did Amiga as well as C64 emulation. That being said...it's SPENDY...but kinda neat
scooterb: "I once shot a man in Catan, just to watch him die."
Of course it does Amiga emulation. It's a PC.
Well I am bringing this thread back if someone wants to check it out:

There is also an Amiga Mini (nice but wayyyyyy pricey)
http://www.commodoreusa.net/CUSA_AMIGAmini.aspx
I want these but I have other stuff wants that take better priority...
Those "Amigas" are nothing but PCs, housed in an off-the-shelf chinese case with an engraved logo, and they're about 2.5x the cost of the same computer without the logo. Or with it, come to think of it. The case manufacturer will engrave whatever you want if you order the case in volume.
Commodore USA is nothing but a generic PC reseller trying to cash in on a legacy that isn't theirs.
Please don't support these jerks.
Since there's no kind of emulation of the C64 in this unit, all it does is look like a C64. Big whoop.
