    Default R.I.P. Mygamercard

I know I see a few others who have their gamercard info in their sigs here and abroad and I noticed this morning that mine wasn't showing up like it ususally does, (you can see what it says in my sig obviously).
Apparantly the site had to shut down for financial reasons. Still I really liked having my XBL info in a nice neat little package. Anyone know of anything similar?

I'm using a new site for now, you can grab the link from my signature and insert your XBL username into it. It's a bit slow, but hopefully they adjust to the new demand for their service.

Edit - Gave up on that site and went with Gamercardcreator.com

Too bad! It was a neat service.

I guess it's time to find some ruthless porn for the 'Ol signature. There's gotta be SOMETHING down there.

Its a bummer he couldn't keep it going. The web integration and community aspects of the 360 early on were really compelling. It seems a lot of 3rd party community-oriented web developers are starting to have issues. For example, BFBC2 stat sites, Halo stat sites, 360voice.com etc. I've seen many of these type of services complaining about access and support, and the sites suffer or die. I'm wondering if Microsoft wants to see them just go away so the communities consolidate under their own services?

I actually haven't used the site in a while but it sucks that they had to go under due to financial reasons. I always wondered how sites like that generated revenue.

360v is a shell of its former self. They were bought by a startup, the dudes who ran it went to work full time on 'gamerDNA' only to get screwed over by them 3 ways to Sunday. I walked awaynfrom there a long while back and haven't cared since.

True achievements stepped up and took their place and have done a much better job of it.

It's sad that mygamercard is gone but I didn't use them for anything but that sig image like I'm sure most everyone else did. It's not hard to see why they had $ issues.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Yeah I honestly can't say I used them for anything other than the sig image either... so I guess I'm partially responsible for it in that way.

Also; I love True Achievements as well. Something that's always seemed strange to me about TA though is that they seem to assign their own point totals to certain achievements. Not that big of a deal but seems kind of pointless really.

There are two sets of points that TA tracks. The gamerscore and the 'True' Achievement value of an achievement (see their name... **nudge nudge**).

The True achievement value is based on the number of people that have actually completed it. The more people that complete it, the easier it is, thus a more common, lower valued achievement. It'll never drop below its stock point value, but if it's harder to pull off, the more it's worth. My TA score is 94,544 (69,280) while my actual Gamerscore is the 69k value.
