Default My Game Room! (with pics!)

Well, I snapped a few new pics today, and figured it was about time to share.
Most shelves are deep, and have 2 rows of games, so you can't really see everything.
I don't have any of my current gen stuff in here, as I play that in the living room on the big screen.
My arcade machines/kiosks had their own room in the basement (arcade room), but the kiosks got moved into the garage for the time being, as the fiancee wanted a workout room.
So you don't get to see that stuff today.
    But without further ado:

Games: N64, 3DO, SNES, PSP, Dreamcast, GB/GBA, DS.
Toys: various plushies, M.U.S.C.L.E, Smurfs, Pokemon

Games: master system, Sega CD, Saturn, 32X, TG16, Genesis, INTV, NES, GC (2600 games in a box on the floor....)
Toys: Gundam model kits, Battle beasts, Thundercats, Ninja Turtles, Digimon, Bucky O'Hare, Moo Mesa

Closet of doom. Drawers for controllers and cords.

    games: PS1, PS2, XBox
Toys: Warcraft, Gargoyles, Biker Mice, Talespin, Beast Wars (transformers)

The playing station! All hooked up and ready to play! (except for the Virtualboy) Random assortment of toys and an autographed VG Cats poster

    Have a seat!

Strategy Guide shelf. (not pictured on shelves above: mario kart figures, and bobblehead collection)

Nice! Too many toys on the shelves for me, but then I'm very OCD when it comes to my shelves Is that a complete Xbox collection?
I reject your reality and substitute it for one of my own!

Nice Baloo plush, I haven't been able to find much Talespin stuff besides a jigsaw puzzle(and the video games).

I definatly approve of the choice of shelving decoration, i do almost the exact same thing with transformers and other 80s (and some 90s) toys, makes the shelves more fun than the usual row after row of the same old games, nicely done.

Thanks! Talespin is like my favorite thing ever. I have the entire action figure series (except Mad Dog) including the planes, various books/comics, a card game, PVC figures and a few other things. I found that plush in Goodwill last year and I flipped. Now, if I only had a Don Karnage plush, my life would be complete

Great collection and setup. Getting a game off the shelf with all those toys looks like it could be suspenseful, but that is probably half the fun right there.

Also, that has got to be the strangest TV I have ever seen. It looks like one of those monstrosities people used to strap on Game Boy systems.

I think the toys deserve there own little shelves. It would kill me (OCD thing) to have to move them out of the way just to get to a game. But that's just me.
I am a collector of the classics (Atari, NES, SNES, Genesis, 3DO, Saturn, etc.)

Thanks! As for the toys, well, they're TOYS. I just lob em on the floor if they get in the way. Nothing aside from the WOW and GUNDAM stuff is fragile, so I don't feel bad tossing it about.

The TV is the Samsung GXTV which was made and marketed for video game playing. Lots of inputs, and a built in speaker system (with sub). I got it for free, because it had no sound (common issue with these), but that was a quick and easy re-wire/re-solder fix.

I've never seen an organized collection look so....messy. Again, it's all those toys(which I love btw) that are seemingly cluttering the shelves. But atleast you are showing them off where as I still have the majority of my toys still in their packages. But I like the strategy guide organization and the boxed systems on the top shelf(I have something similiar in my game room). All in all it's a nice game room that most of us would love to be able to play in, especially with all those games.

Really nice game room and it is also nice to see another female gamers game room from time to time. I like the VG cats pic and you seem to be running out of room for strategy guides..I too have that problem.

I love the M.U.S.C.L.E.S!! I use to collect those back in the day. To bad the NES game sucks real bad. I had high hopes for it back then.

Very nice gameroom by the way!

Edit: im pretty sure she don't keep the toys on the shelves at all times, Im sure that was just for the pic.......right?
Im looking for Bonk for the NES. No need to pm me though, unless you would accept bits of string for tender.

Free? Great score. I really wanted one of those when I worked offshore back in the day. I didn't realize that they had any common issues, but I'm certainly glad that you got it working properly.

I'm also in the 'OCD clutter-free' camp or some of the others here. The consoles stacked on top one another for example would drive me a little batty, as would having media stacked in front of other media on the shelves. That's just a me thing, though.

You've got a treasure trove of goodies in there, there's no denying that. As someone mentioned, the VG Cats posters is really nice. It would be even cooler with a large coloured piece of paper or poster board (cut to size) behind it to serve as an inexpensive matte. It would also help keep it straight in the frame (which I assume is one of those floppy standard poster frames).

Thanks for sharing. You definitely take your hobby seriously.

Edit: im pretty sure she don't keep the toys on the shelves at all times, Im sure that was just for the pic.......right?
I'd wager she does keep them there all the time. People who display figures like that usually do, from what I've observed.

I very much hope I can have a set up like this one day. Some of my games are on small shelves, but stacked way deep and high, not good for display. The rest are in various boxes here and there.
I only need 2 more NES games (US)!

Nice Collection, I espically like the M.U.S.C.L.E. figures you have "protecting" the games

Love the collection, but I too hate the clutter that the toys bring to it. Give them their own display area (if you can find a free one) and you're golden. As it is, it's a bit of an eye sore!
