Dreamcast still rules with its nice shooters, lightgunshooters and Daytona2001
Crazy Taxi may be avdailable on lots of other systems already ( Xbox Live etc ) but still the Dreamcast one feels like the best
Got the Dreamcast on Day One and never looked back. The system is awesome and still has that "IT" that many of the consoles after seem to be missing. Not to be idiotic, but the Dreamcast seems to be the end of that era where games meant so much more than they do now. Sequels back then, even though plentiful, still seemed to have more soul than they do now. The system is awesome and that's the bottom line. As a matter of fact, mine is hooked up now as we speak. Was getting back into Blue Stinger again. So underrated game.
I still have my Dreamcast sitting on my shelf (along with two pairs of Maracas )
I'm still mulling over whether it is worth the $22 to get the SD card adapter for the serial port. It doesn't look like I'm ever going to have the $$$ to waste on a BBA and I would like to back-up my collection at some point. Plus I still have Shenmue II and Headhunter waiting in the wings to complete, although I'm still kicking myself for not importing Rez.
I remember I was at my parents house with a friend just before my dad was about to take a trip overseas. He asked if I wanted anything while he was over there and I said no. At the time I wasn't interested in gaming anymore. However my friend was and she suggested to pick up the dreamcast which had just launched that week. When my dad got back, he had a bundle of goodies... The system, extra controllers, 2 VMUs, a bunch of miscellaneous flyers/etc and about 5 games. I was pretty impressed.
The entire year just before it's release in the states, that same friend gave me a heads up on the "good games" coming out in Japan each month. I trusted her taste so I would actually pick them up. That system pretty much started the rekindling of my interest in gaming.

You know, one game that doesn't get the respect it deserves is Speed Devils. Why hasn't there been a new installment in that series? The game is so awesome and exactly what the system needed. Would be nice to see a new one though. Hell, bring the online edition out over LIVE with the online intact. I'd buy it. Several others probably would too!
I'd buy Speed Devils, especially if it was a hybrid of the two with the original physics from the first game, but with the online play of the sequel (And didn't it have an extra track?). Would make a fine arcade racer on XBLA and PSN.
Yes, it had an extra track. I also loved the look the graphics got with the spit and polish the online edition got. Very sad though that the game got panned even back then by the Dreamcast Magazine, by no doubt. I remember wanting to smack the Hell out of the reviewer when he tried to say the reason it was so bad was because Crazy Taxi was coming even though the two games are nothing alike. Really sad.
Bump
