    Default Broken original xbox error code "16" Help!!

    I am illiterate when it comes to fixing the original xbox. I just bought one with the error "16" need service message. Any easy way to fix?

    Not really. That's pretty much just a "for parts" system. I have an E16 Xbox as well.

    Your HDD is locked! I actually just worked on one of these and wrote about it in my blog.

    My solution was to cannibalize it for parts since I was just buying it to replace my other broken Xbox anyway, but there may be a more eloquent solution in here:

    I saw a post somewhere that had a guy hooking 2 drives up to the same Xbox using a Y-splitter, but I'm not certain where right this instant.

    Its just a simple dashboard error,just install a cheap modchip,then format the hdd.
