Default Is this going to work with Sega Genesis RGB out?

    Hey All,

I just bought a used Sega Genesis. I'm pretty excited to get some of the classics. ( Strider ). Anyway, I know that it only has RF and RGB for video out.

So do you guys this this will work on the Model 1 "High Definition Graphics"

Not at all. The only way to get component or s-video is with an internal mod or external convertor.

You can get composite video with the proper cable, tho.

Thanks, I'll see good/bad the RF is and take it from there.

Yes you can get component from the Genesis, you just need a converter to do it since the Genesis outputs RGB.

First thing you need is a RGB to YUV (Component) converter which are about $50 on eBay:

The second thing you need is a Megadrive 1 SCART cable.

And the last thing you need is a 3.5mm to Phono RCA cable for the stereo audio from the headphones port.

And that's it, it will cost you around $75 to achieve an amazing picture from your Sega Genesis. It sure is worth it thou.
