    Default Dreamcast battery replacement

Alright I'm sick of the date screen every time I turn the damn thing on. I know I need a rechargeable battery but what are my options? anyone have any recommendations? I know it's going to cost me a bit (or so I've heard).

Another thing too: should I get a wired battery clip or one with prongs, like the one that comes with the dreamcast?

    Thanks

For anyone interested it turns out the battery in the DC is a ML2430, which is pretty hard to buy outside of importing them from Asia.

I'm going to try a mod using rechargeable AAA batteries (found here) and see if it works out.

I'll edit this post later with my results.

I've heard of simply using two 1.5v rechargable batteries. I actually cut apart an old TV remote I picked up at a secondhand store in preparation but haven't bothered with the mod since I rarely play my dreamcast.

This is proving to be very difficult. The solder doesn't want to stick to the batteries and I don't have a clamp or heatsink of any kind so it's kind of a pain.

Maybe finding an old TV remote isn't a bad idea then. Radio Shack might actually have a battery holder you can use.

Yeah I think I'll go that route. Gotta make sure it has the full output though since it's not 3v in total as it is.

    thanks for the tip!
