Default Restore Sony firmware to a CFW PSP 2000?

Hey guys. The other day I slipped on ice and landed on my side. I had my PSP 2000 in my pocket. I checked it out, and it seemed to be completely fine so I didn't worry about it.

The next time I went to actually play my PSP, I discovered that something had happened to the analog stick. Now, no matter what I do the analog stick goes crazy and all the fixes I've read online do nothing. I've even taken the system apart and completely replaced the analog nub assembly with another I bought on ebay to the same result.

So what I'm going to do is send it back to Sony for repair (read: replacement). Problem is, I've got custom firmware on it and am worried about potential complications such as them charging me an extra fee or flat out refusing to repair it for voiding the warranty.

So tl;dr, is there a way to remove all traces of the custom firmware and restore the PSP to it's official Sony firmware?

    Thanks.

I'd assume you'd just download an official firmware that's above your current firmware version. So if you're at 5.00m33, upgrade to 5.50 OFW.

I would ask zector. I believe (don't quote me) a few years ago he said. When you upgrade the psp to custom firmware you needed to save something in case you have to revert it back.

How did you put the CFW on it in the first place? I have a TOOL battery that I used, which I think is also able to help reset it back to OFW.

If you're able to find the steps on how to do it, I can mail you my battery (it's for a 2000) if you want to use it.

I just looked it up. To upgrade to official firmware just update using any official firmware, but like gepeto said, there's a way to upgrade to official firmware and then redowngrade if they send you the same PSP back. If you send it in though, you're probably going to get a refurbished system and not the same one. The other thing is that even if you do upgrade, all PSPs are able to get CFW now anyways. If they're going to charge you to get your PSP fixed, just buy a 3000 for $130 is what I'd say.
