Default Atari Lynx II- Weird Screen Issue

My Atari Lynx II system developed this problem a couple of years ago. At the time, I just set it aside, but I decided to look into getting it fixed today.

The screen is messed up in an odd way. The extreme left 1/3 is completely black. The extreme right 1/3 has vertical lines (mostly white). The middle third displays the games correctly. I tried taking it apart and reseating the screen's ribbon cable, but this had no effect. Any ideas what could be causing this?

It sounds like the LCD screen might be going bad. If that is what's going on (more experienced people can chime in and confirm or dispute it) then the only option is to get another Lynx. I don't know where on Earth you might be able to find a replacement screen.
