Default Kirby's Block Ball incompatible with GBA?

Can anybody test this and see if I'm just going crazy? I was going to play Block Ball, and popped it in my GBA SP (the backlit model). The Nintendo logo appears just fine during the boot sequence, and then the screen goes white. I figured the cart was dead, so I dug up another copy. Same damn thing! I'll have to find my old Gameboy Pocket later and see what both copies do in there.

I just tested my copy on a backlit SP and it worked fine.

Okay, I just cleaned the living crap out of the second copy and it started working on both the SP and GB Pocket (the Nintendo logo showed up fine even before that, though, which is weird). The first copy still doesn't want to work on anything, but the Nintendo logo shows up fine.

Oh, it's compatible with the GBA SP but the color scheme is...awful. Yeesh! Better off playing on Super Game Boy, imo.

Yeah, no kidding. Most of the default color palettes on a GBC/GBA are awful. In most cases, I just hit Left+B at the boot screen to get good old fashioned greyscale.
