Wow man, I'm glad you like the covers and that my little hobby had a positive effect on your collecting. The Genesis/MD is my favourite system of all time, so it's cool to see that I managed to get someone back into it.

Curse is almost done, just gotta put some finishing touches on it.

As for SMS stuff, yeah I could do it, I'd just need scans of the Brazilian originals.

Yes my friend, you have fully influenced me, after about 12 years without a Genesis I had decided to actually go and pick one up. Now I dont know why I ever got rid of it in the first place!

Im trying to procure some Brazil Master System titles sleeve scans from a friend for you.

I also had another Request, could you make a Genesis sleeve using the original Japanese Art (also think the Euro art is exact) for "Vampire Killer" I absolutely love the Japanese art compared to the North American version (Castlevania Bloodlines), and the game is in full English already as well as much gorier with blood EVERYWHERE compared to both the NA and Euro release. AND the fact its just called "Vampire Killer" is pretty darn badass!

Sounds good about the SMS covers, I look forward to giving them a shot. As for Vampire Killer, I'd really need a scan of the Japanese cover. I have a scan of the European release that uses the same artwork, but it's not the best quality scan, and it has a huge Castlevania logo on it. I'd need that Japanese Vampire Killer logo.

This might seem like a dumb question, but what type of paper and printing process achieves a professional result that emulates the Genesis print quality/paper stock?

Hey Dude, I got some Nice scans of some Brazilian Master System Exclusives, hopefully the quality is good enough (These were printed pretty badly by Tec-Toy to begin with)

    Fire and Ice: http://www.box.com/s/8xl5h9juavgm71qejj2x

Ren Hoek & Stimpy: Quest for the Shaven Yak: http://www.box.com/s/51osbr640ule796otjvo

    Mickeys Ultimate Challenge: http://www.box.com/s/f25d6nd3ulqdeb0s44lh

Mickey Mouse in Legend of Illusion: http://www.box.com/s/cd4856852mmmok3iqe72

    Bonkers Wax Up: http://www.box.com/s/299rpzqh81syxsi6od1b

    X Men Mojo World: http://www.box.com/s/qbnqohcmu8dk9thuopxa

Also just to throw this out there, some Brazilian Master System exclusives just use the Regular Genesis/Megadrive artwork like Earthworm Jim, Dynamite Headdy, Ariel the Little Mermaid, Ecco The Tides of Time, Taz Escape from Mars, etc....heres an example of what they look like with the Genesis artwork: http://www.box.com/s/lvk1buu01xchavbe2znz

And just to throw this suggestion out there....It would be cool if you could do these Brazilian Exclusives in the Blue Style Sleeve they all originally come in, but with the addition of English text and whatnot. I mean regular Master System Grid style sleeve is cool too! up to you! you are the artist after all! Thanks again for all your hard work my friend!

The best paper to use is glossy magazine/brochure paper. Any thickness is good, generally a thicker paper is better, though don't go as thick as cardstock because it doesn't bend well and tends to crack. As for printing, any decent modern printer: inkjet or laser will do. Personally I'd recommend laser because the covers are very colour heavy and will waste all your ink if you're using inkjet. The quality and proper calibration of the printer will also play a role in how good your prints turn out, so just keep that in mind. Hope that helps.

    Thanks!

Not sure what I'll do next, I have a few covers that are half done that I'll likely finish up. I'm doing a conversion of Sword of Vermilion that uses the kickass Japanese artwork instead of the dumbass crap the American release got. I also need to finish the cover for a Sonic hack: Mighty the Armadillo in Sonic the Hedgehog 1. Those shouldn't take too long, after that I'll most likely do Dangerous Seed next.

As for the PCBs, yes they're the same size, so you can effectively take out a Japanese MD PCB and put it into a Genesis shaped cartridge and it'll fit. The only thing is some the Japanese ones have the holes drilled in slightly different places than the Genesis boards do. So what you might need to do is shave the little plastic pegs inside the cart case to make the board fit properly. It's pretty easy to do with a razor or sharp knife, you only have to shave off about 1mm.

Also, thanks for the SMS scans, I'll have to see what I can do.

HBow is that game(TeddyBoy Blues)? I always thought if they named the Master System game something else, that game would have been appreciated by more people. I know it was years before I finally played it, because the name just turned me off.

The Mega Drive version is pretty much the same idea as the SMS game except with nicer graphics: better colours, nicer backgrounds, more detail etc... Gameplay is the same, except there's no music. I assume it's because they needed to keep the rom as small as possible since it was a Mega Net title and the Sega Modem had a whopping speed of 1,600 bits/s. Also, the SMS game was just called Teddy Boy in North America.

I know what you mean about the name putting you off from playing it. I don't mind this one, but I had a similar thing happen to me with Gunstar Heroes. The cover art put me off that game for a pretty long time. The North American art is just so ugly.

The best version of that game is the Mega CD one, as you get some pretty catchy vocal arranged songs.

Has anyone ever done had their Famicom games translated? NESReproductions says that if an English patch exists for a game, he can just put the translated ROM onto the board. I would prefer this to getting translated games in NES cartridges, just for the sake of authenticity.

Is there any sort of rights issue about this? Most translators put their credit on the title screen, but I don't know...
