Default Digital Pad Solution for PS3 Question

Does anyone know how you can use some kind of digital joystick for the Japanese shooters downloaded from the Playstation Store that don't support the analog sticks? Thanks.

Not sure if this answers your question properly, but - The Mad Catz Street Fighter IV 6 button pads (and the joysticks) allow the user to assign either right analog, left analog or d-pad to the d-pad on the controller via a 3-way switch on the bottom, and if needed you can switch it on-the-fly.

Default Digital Pad Solution for PS3 Question

Sorry maybe I should have been more clear about my question. I would like to be able to use a stick instead of the direction pad on games that don't use analog. Thanks for the reply tho.

I thought all of the sticks available are digital. I don't think there ARE analog sticks aside from the ones on the controllers.....

Ah, so you want to use an analog instead of the D-Pad where the game isn't specifically formatted for that.

Hmm. Not sure if there's anything that will give you that effect.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a 3rd party controller that has a digital mode for the analog stick, but I believe that was for PS2.

im not 100% sure this will work due to sony 3.50 firmware knocking off alot of 3rd party compatibility but as i recall, back in the psx era, there was a really decent 3rd party dualshock style controller called the barracuda, i dont remember if nyko or madcatz made it, but i do recall it allowed use of its analog sticks on any and all games whether they were developed for it or not

if u can track this down on ebay or wherever (here possibly) a ps2 to ps3 controller adapter could potentially let you hook it up to the system and play like that, i'll see if i can look it up for you

edit: im reasonably certain it was this controller

if im remembering correctly, it was a pretty good controller with rapid fire and possibly programmable buttons, lol didnt keep it for too long tho, i remember trading this with a friend after a month for like 2 games, 15 dollars a memory card and a standard non dualshock ps1 controller, lol till this day i dont think i've ever managed to broker a better deal than that
