Just get yourself a short extension cord. Set the Colecovision power adapter with the plug facing up. Plug the short extension cord into the Colecovision power adapter and store the whole thing out of the way. Now you'll have a normal size plug for the Colecovision.
If I remember correctly we had a thread on this YEARS ago and apparently in Canada this is how the CV power adapter came packaged, as an inline box that then went to a normal size plug.
my 5200 power brick(11.5v)is big enough to kill with
There aren't any other compatible power supplies that will work with the Colecovision. In fact, the only other machine that even has the same plug on the console is the Texas Instruments Home Computer, and that one's wired differently and will deep-fry the Colecovision's circuits if you try it. I have heard of people attempting to mod the console to give it a more universal power supply, but I don't know how successful they were.
Colecovision uses 3 voltages; 12v, 5v and -5v. You can easily use a different power supply for 12v, like a spare GameCube power supply for example, for the 5v you could mount a 7805 onto a fairly large heatsink and install that into your console for convenience, and also a voltage regulator like the Texas Instruments PTN78000A for the -5v. Change the female power supply on the console to the one from a GameCube, and the rest is plain sailing.
I keep mine under my pillow incase some one breaks in.
