Default PlayStation NAMCO Museum 4- Assault controls

what is the control scheme for the Assault game on this? Does it use the DualShock sticks (an icon on the back shows this if so) & can you configure it to use a single (left) stick, or must it use both sticks?

I ask because Im considering using this w/ an X-Arcade Dualstick & I cant seem to configure it to work w/ games that use both control sticks (Vindicators, etc). IIRC it released before the DualShock was available.

It was released before dualshock was available, so youre required to use the dpad and buttons. For what it's worth, it works well and it's a great port. I just don't think it's gonna work with your dual stick joystick.

If you get Midways Arcade Treasures for ps2, however, Vindicators, Robotron 2084, and Smash TV will work, as will Total Carnage in MAT 2.

Yes I was able to get Vindicators to work using the single left stick (I configured the controls so left stick=movement) & ther's a 2 button combo to press to get the Dualstick to work w/ the other games, never had trouble w/ those.

It's compatible with the original dual analog joystick, I think (the big one that looks like a twin flight stick). The "Dual Analog Controller" that came out before the DualShock has a compatibility mode to work with such games.

This just was released via PSN for the PSP/VITA/PS3.

Can anyone comment on what happens with Assault/Assault Plus when running this, either the download or original disc, on a PS3? Will I be limited to the d-pad, or can my Dual Shock 3 be utilized just like a Dual Analog gamepad (The immediate predecessor of the original Dual Shock)?

The price of this Playstation release has kept me away for years, but there's no point in paying to download it if the game I want to play will have crippled control.
