    Default Pokemon Battery Question

I have three pokemon carts, 2 silver 1 crystal that when booting says time not set. Saves seem to work fine however and the old save file is still there? Is this battery or something else?

Well the battery is used for both the clock and the save game. While it still loads the save are you still able to overwrite the save, shut off the system, and still have it there when the system is turned back on?

Yea that sounds like the battery is going out soon, it has enough power for the save file just not for the clock.
