Default Snow white eMac computers from 2003

    Hello group,

My work has 2 or 3 working white eMac computers that we bought back in 2003-04 to so some compatibility testing and we no longer need. I am by no means a Mac person, so I have very little knowledge in them at all. I'm told they work and are complete with monitor/cpu, keyboard, and mouse.

I have a couple of questions:

    1. ANy idea of the value of these?
    2. Since they weigh 50+ pounds, I can't ship them but do any of my local DPers know of either a collector or place where I can sell them?

EDIT: Added more info from one of the Macs, all are probably equivalent:
    eMac version 2.1
    Processor: 800 Mhz PowerPC G4
    Memory: 256 MB
    OS: MacOS X version 10.2.5

    Thanks for your help!
    Holt

Not sure what they are worth, but they should be pretty good donors to run Amiga OS4 if you wanted to tinker with that. Supposed to be a pretty nice OS.

Unfortunately, they are literally worth almost nothing. There are tons on Ebay with much better specs for right around $30-$50. Even the various Apple refurb dealers only charge $100 for a fully refurbed one.

Well, the boss will probably send these off to scrap then. Seems like a waste, but it's all about the value I guess.

I don't do much of any of that. If I would have known they were worth so little, I would have brought them to OVGE and just sold them to someone for $25 each. Ah well...

... Man, I'd kill to have one of those around.

I'm not all that sure they'd sell at that price, to be honest. It's not too hard to find them in thrifts and such, and don't have a lot of usefulness in this day and age. I've got one collecting dust on a desk that I haven't turned on in some time because it was just too dang slow. Adding memory will help but only to a point. Donating it to one of those organizations that ship used computers to schools in poor African countries might be the best thing for them.
