From what I understand, the database entry of $4 complete is very out of date.
I've seen it go for $20 loose on ebay, and I guess it was a good deal that I picked up a loose rental copy for about $9+ship on half?

Be careful with Grind Stormer. It had a run of defective copies in the US that just flat out don't work. It might have been wise to contact the seller and verify that it works before you purchased it.
Also, the Genesis version kind of sucks. It's one of those games that Genesis hardware can't really handle and is just kind of crammed on the cart. Still a good game, but to truly appreciate this one you'll have to go through MAME.
$9 isn't a bad deal if the cart works.
Interesting. I actually own this game, complete and working. It's not bad, but not as good as other Genny shooters like Gaiares and Arrow Flash.

Yeah, it's not a bad game, but the arcade version (it's called V-V if anyone was wondering) really blows it out of the water and is a great game.
I'm actually surprised Grind Stormer doesn't sell for even more, being that it's a Toaplan shmup and has that defective run.
The V Five version title screen is accessible on the Genesis port.
Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.
Changes the gameplay to V5 also, Gradius style power-up system instead of set pick-up type. You get both versions on one cart. Thought that was kick ass myself. Especially since it was a Genny shooter I never even knew about until I found it in a pile of carts some years ago.

It's an ok game on Genesis but it got nerfed in comparison to the original arcade game. The screen squash makes it harder than it should be and really compromises the flow, I would say. Compared to Fire Shark and Slap Fight, it outright is mediocre and that's thanks to the descrepancy in hardware difference between arcade and Genesis. It's uncommon to be sure but nobody seems as interested anymore and as I've seen the prices on this have slowed considerably. I would think $30 max for a complete copy is fair so $9 cartridge only is pretty good.
Whaddya mean invalid parameters?!
9,000 gigs of ram and it still can't answer a simple question!
I really didn't know much about it - my fiance picked it up when he went on a Genesis buying blitz at a local store a year or two ago.
