Deadly Premonition if you like survival horror.
Deathsmiles
Sonic's Genesis Collection
Just Cause series
Dead Rising series
All of these are fun.
Alan Wake, Bioshock, GTA IV, Mass Effect would be my suggestions
Life is like a hurricane...
In my opinion, older, cheap (< $20 new) games that are still great to play....
Prey
Oblivion
Saints Row
Crackdown (The first one)
Burnout Paradise
Soul Caibur 4
Unreal Tournament III
Eternal Sonata
Here are some suggestions...
Xbox Retail
Mass Effect / Mass Effect 2
Assassin's Creed II / Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Red Dead Redemption
Grand Theft Auto IV
Namco Museum
Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams
Rock Band 3
Xbox Live Arcade
Pac-Man: Championship Edition / Championship Edition DX
Geometry Wars / Geometry Wars 2
Pinball FX2
Defense Grid: The Awakening
Shadow Complex
Xbox Live Indie
Prior to the price increase, I would have suggested anything by radiangames. Now that the games are $5 each instead of $1 each, there are better deals to be had.
Mostly Harmless
Rez HD
Child of Eden
Epic Dungeon (Indie game - only $1)
I'm going to go exclusive-only here just for a bit of a challenge...
Child of Eden
Crackdown 1 and/or 2
Fable 2 and/or 3
PGR4
Hmm, fewer than I expected. Onto the XBLA games-
Braid (not exclusive, but still essential)
Pac-Man DX (ditto)
Space Giraffe
And the indies... well, there are only really two truly great Xbox indie games- Z0MB1ES and Miner Dig Deep.
Depends on your tastes but these are all good:
Eternal Sonata
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Blur
Mortal Kombat
Left 4 Dead (I also prefer the first one)
Portal 1/2
Oblivion (and Skyrim when its released)
Castle Crashers (XBLA)
Sega Genesis Collection
I reject your reality and substitute it for one of my own!
If you want very hard retro type XBLA games, Mega Man 9/10 are sure tough enough.
Lum fan.
Lost Odyssey and Deadly Premonition.

the forza series and dirt series if you like racing.
Here are some cheap and mid-priced recs:
Fallout 3 (interchangeable with Fallout New Vegas)
Fallout New Vegas (interchangeable with Fallout 3)
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 (1 is okay too, also cheaper)
Burnout Paradise (best arcade-ish racer ever IMO)
Lost Odyssey
Deadly Premonition (PS2 graphics but very fun)
Oblivion (game of the year edition if you can)
Borderlands
Mass Effect (1 for more RPG elements, 2 for more FPS elements)
Divinity II (look for the Atlas re-release).
Dragon Age: Origins
Devil May Cry 4
Unreal Tournament III (not much online play left)
Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4 (super cheap racing sims)
Dead Space 2
There are plenty more. The 360 has a nice library. Kind of difficult to make a preference based recommendation based on the 4 games you do have.
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Overlord
I loved Lost Odyssey. Blue Dragon was pretty good as well but seemed a little on the kiddie side or something.
