'black label edition' means nothing. All the cases outside of the outer cardboard box are 'black labels'.

If you've got the Fan Art discs, do you have the Fan Art insert? That version has a different case & manual from the original release. That will affect value.

All that, if it's a complete Fan Edition $50 sounds about right.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I remember reading an interview by Victor Ireland the head of Working Designs and he said the fan edition was a lot more rare than the original release.

At the time of the original release of Lunar SSSC, it was the best selling small publisher title ever at something like 400k. The Fan edition was only released in EB Game stores and had a really small run. It's much more rare, but the thing is most people don't care a ton as they just want 'A' copy and not all 5 copies.

Searching the net people are saying that Victor Ireland said the fan edition was about 1 for every 30 copies of the original. So about 10,000 copies of the fan edition were made right.

Plus the fan art is honestly pretty bad. On aesthetics alone, I'd go for the original version. I don't understand why they chose that art. Surely someone must've submitted something better than that.

That, and IIRC, the fan "art" was pretty godawful.
Plus, without the "making of" disc, there's no way to play the hidden Warlords clone!
