Default At what point do you lower rating on shipping

Im talking about on ebay. What is your threshold for when you recieve an item in the mail and you see that the shipping was less than what was charged?

Personally I still give them a 4 to 5 star if the amount I was charged was within a dollar of what it costs to ship. I just got a game in last week that they charged I think 3.00 and the shipping on it was actually 2.30 or something. What I can't stand is when they charge 4.00 to ship and it costs like 2.05.

So at what point do you start to knock down the seller rating for shipping?

Unless it's really egregious, I don't mark a seller down for this. I set my bid based on the total price, including shipping. If the shipping is high, I bid less, and vice versa. I understand there are costs, beyond the raw postage, that sellers must cover, including ebay's new fee on shipping costs.

I do punish sellers for dishonesty, though, so if someone charges me for Priority mail then ships it 1st class, I'll knock them down to 3 stars.

You should take into consideration the fact that bubble mailers, gas, tape, all that stuff costs money. So I don't really mind, unless the seller screws me over on shipping (charging way too much for something that cost $3 to ship.)

This. If you aren't shopping/bidding based on the total price, you are doing it wrong.
