    Cool Printable Sega 32X covers!

I thought I would share these here as well because cardboard boxes suck, here are some ready to print 32x cover inserts! They are formatted for Universal Game Cases (UGC) and standard Sega clamshell cases. For optimal results, you should print them from Photoshop to avoid the images getting resized.

Note: 32x games don't always fit very well into Genesis clamshell cases, however there are 4 Acclaim 32x sports titles that came in plastic clamshells designed to hold a 32x cart (NFL Quarterback Club, NBA Jam & 2 WWF games). Also, some Genesis cases have a slightly larger cartridge holder that can accomodate a 32x cart quite nicely.

This last one was the final game to ever be released for the 32x. It didn't make it to North America and was only released in Europe. So this cover isn't official, it's a localization for repro purposes since this game is virtually impossible to find.

This is almost the entire North American collection, I'm missing some scans to complete it, if you have any of the games not seen here and can hook me up with the scans I'd appreciate it.

Also if anyone wants to give it a shot and make their own covers, my 32x cover template can be found in my sig. Cheers!

Also, please note that these covers are saved at 300 dpi (mostly, a few are 250) so they look huge on screen, but when you print them they come out the right size because of the formatting, the printer will know what to do with it. Just make sure to print from Photoshop to avoid losing that.

What printer would you recommend to print these out with?

These are awesome. If i shill had my 32x collection I would certainly use these! alas, I do not.

Note: Those acclaim plastic boxes for 32x games are awesome... the carts fit great. However, they aren't nearly as cheap as they used to be. You couldn't give them away a few years ago. I think I sold the 32x games on eBay for 30+ a piece.

It's hard to recommend a single printer, most modern printers are quite good, as long as they're in good condition and well calibrated. I print all my covers at the local print shop and they have these giant Xerox laser printers/phtocopiers. However I've also printed on a Samsung laser printer and it looked just as good. For optimal results use glossy laser paper, like the kind used on magazine pages. The only thing I'd avoid is older home use inkjet printers since these covers might be too colour heavy for them, however if you have access to some heavy duty industrial ink jets I heard those work well too. Also I should mention that the UGC covers are too large to fit on a standard 8.5" x 11" page so you'll want to use a printer that can take larger pages.

Did all of the US 32x games come in cardboard? There's a WWF Raw (or something like that) game at a local used shop here and it's a hard plastic case.

I remember reading somewhere that Master System cases will fit 32x games well. Can any one confirm this?

See first post - 4 Acclaim games came in plastic clamshells. They're kinda pricey these days though.

Yes, the 32x carts will fit into most SMS cases, however the manuals won't because the SMS manual holders are a little closer together than on a Genesis or 32x case.

Yeah, the 4 Acclaim sports games came in plastic cases, but I figured I might as well make covers for them as well since a lot of the games out there are orphaned carts.

    Aaaand, now...

    Fifa Soccer 96 (Localized/Repro cover)

    UGC cover: https://www.box.com/s/23grhdbl8mrgqe2id9yr
    Sega clamshell cover: https://www.box.com/s/wqcfsom2av7y9ltnhvdf
    Cart sticker: https://www.box.com/s/0nugpb7qt5fpwztqdhfn

This game was going to get a North American release but it got canned last minute, so it only came out in Europe. Thus, this cover would technically be for a repro (if someone really wanted to make one of this game) or more likely a localization for the European PAL region game because the cartridges are region free and will run on a North American system, so if you want it to match the rest of your NTSC collection on the shelf it now can.

    Enjoy.
