Only on a pure nostalgic level. By all other criteria, the SNES port is just plain pathetic. I'll stick with the arcade perfect port on Capcom Classics Vol. 1.

Ye, the arcade version might be more enjoyable. I remember playing it a couple of times, but the SNES version was definitly a good "replacement" in my opinion. Didnt the arcade version also have 2 player support?

The arcade version had more levels, 2-player support, all three characters, and no censorship. The Sega CD version had all of this as well (it was only slightly censored, compared to the neutered SNES one).

The SNES is perhaps the worst version of FF to offer. I'd rather have Final Fight One, which is probably around the same price right now.

Man, I was hoping for more NES games than that. I really am wanting the original Contra and Super C as well as Metroid 1 and Super Metroid.

The thing is the amount nes games on the vc will improve in time. Nintendo only releases up to 3 or 5 vc games every Monday in North America. The amount games the nes gets week is effected by the tg-16,snes or the genesis.

As far as the nes, I don't know when, but it is on Wikipedia's list of upcoming games for the nes. It shouldn't take as long as Ninja Gaiden, or TMNT2: the arcade game. When those 2 games come out, it is unclear due to the fact the Esrb rating come out for those 2 games last week and it is tradionally for the nes so far to having games just getting a ESRB rating to come out much later.

For the nes getting next "true" big game it should be Zelda 2 or Metroid. The other nes games before Tmnt 2 or Ninja Gaiden are Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, Mach Rider, Pac-Man, and Pro Wrestling. I don't know the dates of when those games will be released. Super Metriod should be released soon depending when nintendo releases snes games due to the fact, there are 7 snes games that got ERSB ratings including Super Metriod.

Damn. It figures they'd put Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Spirit up.

Still not buying shit until I see a Metroid game, Nintendo.

How is Ninja Spirit? I'm trying to buy the best TG 16 games only on the VC. I can't imagine it can touch the Ninja Gaiden games.

Ninja Spirit blows the NES Ninja Gaiden games out of the water (personal opinion of course). One of the finer Ninja platformers of days past. NEC Avenue did a great job porting this Irem coin-op to the TG-16.

I didn't expect Ninja Gaiden to be released yet. I figured Pac-man would be though. I hope this continues with having 2 nes games a week, so it would be no time to get Metroid on the vc.

Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Spirit make this a good week. As for Pac-Man, well, they can't all be winners. Sure, it's not the 2600 version, but still, there's so much better out there.

    Oh, and SUPER METROID PLZ.*

    * - Can't help it - after all, it's my favorite game of all time.

    Ahhhhh hell yeahz. Ninja Gaiden!

I've been wanting to hook up my NES to replay that for a while now, and I have just 500 points left!!

I wonder if I can still beat the game without dying...used to be able to own that game to the core.
