Hmm. This is becoming an unhappy trend. Here's hoping for a good summer of classics.

It would make better sense to do it the other way around. Not much is released between the end of Spring and the start of Fall, it's a dead zone where the least amount of money possible is made.

But, ho, what's this?! Here comes Nintendo in the middle of Summer, sporting a bag full of yesteryear classics!

NOA probably just wants to be sure people have their $2k monies set aside for Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the 23rd... Figure if a kid gets an allowance of $10/week, 5 weeks of no releases = a kid with $50 saved looking for a hot new game, and BOOM!
    NOA makes $2k monies themselves.

are there any heavy hitter releases left? i love the obscure/rare/import titles, but the masses arent nearly as interested in them.

Not many of those kids are going to be buying things like old arcade titles, Commodore 64 titles, NES titles, etc.

So I'd hope that wasn't their reasoning.

Plenty of major titles aren't on it. About the only thing that has a decent amount of coverage has been Nintendo's own back catalog.

Bunch of Genesis and a decent handful of C64 and SMS titles. Plenty of NES and SNES series are still missing their second halves as well.
