I've never actually played with Pokedex 3D, but from what I'm gathering this update basically unlocks for everyone from the start features that used to require completing sections of the dex. Features such as special items and sliders used in the AR viewer. The specific features unlocked seem to be the Timer, Notes, SD Card Backgrounds and the pause function.

It took a bit of searching, but it seems that the site I got the download list from spelled the name wrong. It's actually Catrap.
Catrap is awesome, BTW. Really fun, cute puzzle game.

We haven't had a Virtual Console release since late August when The Ignition Factor (SuperNes) was released.
I guess we can consider that the end of new releases. I wouldn't be surprised to see a game or two make it out during the Christmas season, but I think it's clear the Virtual Console is done on the Nintendo Wii.
