What "fiasco" would that be? (Isn't up on recent Neo-Geo history)

At first, they had some street cred because they managed to get in contact with Visco and get Bang Bang Busters released. From the looks of that game, it would have been one of the earlier releases. It never got an official release but was apparently completed. So after that went fairly well, they said they found another proto awaiting for public release again. This time it was Treasure of the Caribbean. People were really excited for it and plunk down upwards of $500 for a complete kit of the game. When the game was released, it was utter garbage and resembled nothing of what the early prototype screens were. What ended up happening was they hired the French developer Le Cortex (the future makers of Crouching Pony Hidden Dragon) to recreate the game based on the few screenshots that were publicly available. They didn't even do a good job of trying to build on what was there and instead re-imagined it from the ground up and basically only carrying over the title.

So let me make sure I understand this right: They basically made an all-new game, but claimed that it was an unreleased old game?

    That's exactly right.

Default Crossed Swords 2 - MVS (conversion from CD)

Pre-orders open for Crossed Swords 2 MVS

    http://www.neobitz.com/crossedswords2

This is a CD to ROM conversion project, credit goes to Razoola who had to borrow music from Crossed Swords. Hopefully more can be tweaked (at least the intro music).

If you missed out the first 200 copies of Fast Striker here's your chance of getting it. The artwork is gorgeous, much better than their first run.

    I'm necro-bumping this thread.

6 years after the preorders we're finally getting updates on the orders, US buyers are finally getting the RE edition shipped around Oct 20th.

I have missed a few more recent releases (non-NGDEV) due to the fact that those games seem to be just for cash grab and the developers have no clue on what make Neo-Geo unique. None of the game plays, sounds/music, graphics, and even game packaging screams out the name Neo-Geo.

Neotris - sold out and don't even know if MVS is still available. Contact contact@chipsonsteroids.com

Xenocrisis - AES sold out but downloads, CD and MVS ares still available here.
