    Default Flea Market Woes

I guess this will teach me to check games thoroughly before i jump on them. Ended up buying a lot of 7 genesis/nes/ps1 games for $10

got boxed Ecco, Eternal Champions, and Lion King

    Loose, Dragon Warrior, Faxanadu

    Black label Final Fantasy VIII

i get home, and find out the the 3 genesis games have missing copper pegs on the rom chip on the bottom of the cartridges. I haven't tested the games yet, but i assume that means these games are pretty much dead.

then i open up the final fantasy, and realize it is missing Disk 1.

    FML

although i did manage to get paper mario for $10, As well as a black label final fantasy 9 for $6. So i'm happy with those.

Your Genesis games will work fine. It's actually pretty common to see Genesis games missing some contacts. I assume it was done to save money and they were going unused anyway.

Like cityside75 said, your genny carts are ok. As for checking discs, yeah, you gotta.

I bought Ghen War for saturn at a flea market and the disc was horribly scratched up. For whatever reason the case had the hinges gone so they taped it close and I didn't want to make a big fuss over 5 dollars. It's a good thing the saturn is great at reading damaged discs.but yea, flea markets arn't as trustworthy as second hand shops. Got to inspect before you get home

I've had that happen to me too though not with games but with video tapes and records. So yeah check the insides first because I had learn the hard way too.

Went to a flea market this past Saturday, I have been going to this place for years.

    Megaman 2, $12.50
    Super Mario Bros. $7
Any other NES commons, $5-$6 a piece
    Mario 64, Goldeneye 64, $20 each

Everything was in really bad shape. Megaman 2 had about half the label ripped off, and every vendor looked at me hard like I was going to try and steal something. I didn't get anything. Fleas are no good for me anymore, but I go about once a year to remind myself of this.
