Nightmare Busters is coming out at some point for the SNES from super fighter team. Its an older prototype Beat em up that is absolutely amazing and is apparently going to be different from the leaked version. Pier Solar is also an older Japanese RPG for the megadrive that was translated I believe. So are Super fighter Teams other Megadrive releases, they are all of Chinese origin originally released back in the 90s.

Battle Kid: Fortress of peril From Sivak games/RetroZone for the NES is an all new amazing, very long and challenging mega man style game!

The Bit Trip series is neo retro. I enjoyed Bit Trip Runner for the Wii immensely.

Pier Solar is from the Watermellon team, completely new game built from scratch.

I think you were thinking of Star Odyssey, which was a old translated/cleaned up version of a japanese RPG.

If you skip a couple of console generations (but still IMO retro) NG:DEV Team has made two games and is working on a third for the Neg Geo and Dreamcast systems. Fast Strikers and Last hope are their first retail releases and both a traditional Space-Ship Shooters with their new release, Gunlord, being a Shoot'em Up in the same vein as Supper Turrican or Contra.

The Dreamcast has also had a couple of other full releases over the years with two of them being Rush Rush Rally Racing, top down racer, and Wind and Water Puzzle battles, pretty funky puzzle game. There are a couple of others that I am sure I'm unaware of.

I have Legend of Wukong by Super Fighter team. Just a standard rpg that was originally a Chinese release. It's pretty cool but the amount of leveling you have to do just to move on can get annoying. Plus so far for me there has only been 3 different songs for the game which gets old. Buts it's still fun.

If you have RPG maker for PS1, here is a site where you can download games that people have made using it:

    http://www.rpgmpavilion.com/index.php?page=rpgm1games

They also games from RPG Maker 2 & 3 for PS2 and the PC version of RPG maker there.

All you need is a DEX Drive and a PS1, or the easier way to do it is own a PS3 and just put the game files on a flash drive to be copied to a virtual PS1 memory card.

Basically a ton of free RPGs.

I'm a collector, but only to a certain extent.
Not as extreme as Rickstilwell though.[/quote]

Or maybe Beggar Prince, a chinese RPG that got a similar treatment.
